Episode 3 - 4th September In 2025, the children’s abuse charity Eighteen and Under secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund in order to capture the living history of the many activists instrumental in the creation of services in Scotland for survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  The legacy these people created has changed lives, healed lives and saved lives. And this podcast aims to share this legacy with future generations, showing them that there is always a way to create what is needed, when it’s needed, when determined people work together against inequality and injustice.

    We reflect on how the 90s and early noughties were defined by a time of great change and energy within the movement. New agencies were being established to support young survivors with a noticeable shift in how survivor organisations and services were being funded.     Episode One : The early days of the 1970s to the early 1990s

    We take a look back at the early days of the Scottish survivor movement, from the 1970s through to the early 1990s. From back rooms in dingy tenements with little resource, to refuges and established centres, we explore the real struggle faced by those brave individuals who created services and resources for vulnerable women and children that still exist to this day.
