Patriots FORGET defense against the Bears + CFB & NFL Picks - The Counter - October 23, 2026

I picked the Patriots to upset the Bears. I was wrong, and New England’s defense deserves to hear about it. Chicago beat New England 30-24 on Thursday night after the Patriots struggled to stop the run, struggled to get off the field and eventually left Drake Maye trying to carry the offense behind a battered offensive line. Maye still threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns, Rhamondre Stevenson somehow scored on a 48-yard catch-and-run with one second left before halftime, and New England STILL couldn’t finish the comeback. Then Cairo Santos drilled a 58-yard field goal late to effectively end it. After that, it’s time to pick the weekend. In college football, I’m calling multiple upsets. Auburn just walked into Athens and beat No. 1 Georgia, and now I’m taking the Tigers outright at home against No. 18 LSU. LaNorris Sellers gets another chance to be THAT DUDE when South Carolina hosts No. 11 Tennessee at Williams-Brice. No. 16 USC goes into Camp Randall, No. 10 Utah gets No. 14 Houston at Rice-Eccles, and I’m not hesitating on Ole Miss against Texas. HOTTY TODDY. Then I hit the NFL board. Atlanta gets ONE more chance before I completely write them off. Cincinnati gets the nod over Baltimore while Lamar Jackson’s status remains uncertain. I’m laying 10.5 with Houston against J.J. McCarthy, taking Detroit in what should be a shootout with Green Bay, fading the Rams with a Raiders upset pick and splitting Denver-Arizona. And on Sunday night? Seattle is favored by three against Patrick Mahomes and an undefeated Kansas City team, with Kenneth Walker returning to face his former team. Thank you very much. Give me the Chiefs. Have a great weekend, everyone! New episodes Monday through Friday. Follow The Counter: @thecounterjp YouTube • Instagram • TikTok • X • Threads

Anthony Edwards SPOILS Giannis, Patriots-Bears & RAYS IN SIX - The Counter - October 22, 2026

Anthony Edwards just ruined Giannis’ Miami debut. Giannis Antetokounmpo finally suited up for the Heat and dropped 35 points, but Anthony Edwards had other plans: 45 points, 10 rebounds and nine threes as Minnesota blew out Miami 131–106. Around the NBA, Kevin Durant and Jabari Smith Jr. both scored 30 as Houston crushed Dallas, while Phoenix somehow had an even worse night, losing 124–83 to Portland. Then it’s time for Thursday Night Football. The Patriots and Bears are both 4–2, Chicago is favored by three at home, and New England’s offensive line is beat up. I don’t care. Drake Maye has won three straight, including a road win in Buffalo, and right now I trust him more than Caleb Williams. I’m not taking New England to cover. I’M TAKING THE PATRIOTS TO WIN THE GAME. Finally, the World Series is here. The Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers were the best teams in their respective leagues, and now one of them will win the first World Series in franchise history. We break down two remarkably similar teams, Tampa Bay’s starting-pitching advantage, Milwaukee’s dominant bullpen, Jacob Misiorowski throwing triple digits, Junior Caminero staring him down, the importance of escaping Milwaukee with a split and the possibility of Freddy Peralta eventually facing his former team on baseball’s biggest stage. And yes, I’m biased. I picked Tampa Bay to win the World Series before October started. I’m not abandoning them now. But if the Rays get Milwaukee on the ropes, they cannot mess around. History shows how dangerous a 3–2 lead can become when Games 6 and 7 are on the road. The 2011 Rangers found out. The 2019 Astros found out. The 2025 Blue Jays found out. If Tampa gets to Milwaukee up 3–2, Game 6 IS Game 7. Finish the job. New episodes Monday through Friday. Follow The Counter: @thecounterjp YouTube • Instagram • TikTok • X • Threads

College Football BROKE, NFL Upsets & ALCS Game 6 - The Counter Full Episode - October 19, 2026

The Counter is back, and apparently the entire sports world decided to lose its mind while I was gone. After a scary situation cut last week short, I return to the studio and there is A LOT to catch up on. We start in the NFL, where Mike LaFleur somehow walked into SoFi Stadium as a massive underdog for the second time this season and WON AGAIN. The Cardinals didn’t score a single touchdown against the Rams. Chad Ryland kicked six field goals. and Arizona still pulled off an 18-16 stunner. So what does Mike LaFleur know about SoFi that we don't? Caleb Williams returned and helped Chicago beat Atlanta, Drake Maye and the Patriots won their third straight despite a rough return for AJ Brown, and my Week 6 board finished 7-5 outright and 7-5 against the spread. Then I preview Monday Night Football. The Commanders head to Levi’s Stadium to face an undefeated 49ers team, and I'm done overthinking it. San Francisco is the better team. Lay the 7.5. And then there’s college football. IT BROKE. Five of the Top 7 teams lost on the same regular-season Saturday for the first time in AP Poll history. No. 1 Georgia lost to unranked Auburn. No. 2 Notre Dame went down at No. 8 BYU. No. 6 Alabama lost again. No. 7 Texas lost again. And after all of that chaos, Miami is the new No. 1 team in the country, BYU is No. 2, and somehow Auburn STILL isn’t ranked. Finally, the Rays had one incredible weekend in Cleveland. After Friday’s rainout, Tampa Bay erupted for seven runs in Game 4 and then rode seven dominant innings from Drew Rasmussen to a 3-1 Game 5 win. The Rays now come home leading the ALCS 3-2 with Freddy Peralta on the mound and a chance to win the American League pennant at Tropicana Field. And the message for Game 6 is simple. DO NOT LET THERE BE A GAME 7. New episodes Monday through Friday. Follow The Counter: @thecounterjp YouTube • Instagram • TikTok • X • Threads

NFL Week 5 disasters, AP Poll & why I hate this ALCS - The Counter Full Episode - October 12, 2026

WHAT DID I JUST WATCH. The NFL delivered another absolutely ridiculous weekend, and my picks certainly didn't survive it. I finished 6-7-1 outright and 6-8 against the spread. I started Sunday in London, where the Eagles seemingly had the game won. BUT NO. Ameer Abdullah returned the ensuing kickoff 53 yards, and Cam Little drilled a 57-yard field goal to give Jacksonville a stunning 19-17 victory. And that was just the beginning. The Giants and Commanders somehow finished tied at 27 after an unbelievable overtime sequence. Drake Maye put on a masterclass as New England demolished Las Vegas 45-17, leaving me wondering why I keep picking against him. San Francisco improved to 5-0 with a wild 32-29 victory over Seattle, while Minnesota remained undefeated. Then came Sunday Night Football. Without Lamar Jackson, Baltimore rushed for 208 yards and defeated Atlanta 30-23 in overtime. Derrick Henry helped the Ravens control the football, Tyler Huntley delivered, and Kyle Hamilton ended Atlanta's comeback attempt with an interception. So, five weeks into the season, do we FINALLY know something about the NFL? I also preview Monday Night Football between Buffalo and Los Angeles. The Rams are favored by three, but Matthew Stafford's turnovers have me questioning whether Los Angeles deserves that much confidence. Josh Allen, James Cook, and Dalton Kincaid give Buffalo a legitimate opportunity to steal this game. Meanwhile, college football was almost as chaotic. Georgia defeated Alabama 20-17 and climbed to No. 1 in the AP poll. Oklahoma stunned Texas in the Red River Rivalry, UCLA went into Oregon and won, and Kentucky knocked off LSU in overtime. But did the AP voters get everything right? I'm questioning Texas remaining seventh, UCLA sitting ahead of Missouri, and Tennessee ranking above Kentucky. We also look at the increasingly competitive Big 12 race. Finally, OCTOBER BASEBALL. Milwaukee takes Game 1 of the NLCS with a 2-1 victory over Los Angeles, thanks to Brice Turang's home run, some classic small ball, and an excellent bullpen performance. And the Tampa Bay Rays are FOUR WINS AWAY FROM THE WORLD SERIES. After sweeping the Yankees, Tampa Bay faces Cleveland in the ALCS. But I don't love this matchup. The Guardians can make games ugly, and the Rays will need contributions from Junior Caminero, Jonathan Aranda, and the rest of their lineup to advance. It's another packed episode of The Counter. Let's get into it. New episodes Monday through Friday. Follow The Counter: @thecounterjp YouTube • Instagram • TikTok • X • Threads

RAYS SWEEP THE YANKEES, Dodgers-Brewers NLCS & TNF- The Counter Full Episode - October 8, 2026

THE YANKEES ARE GOING TO CANCUN. The Tampa Bay Rays just SWEPT the New York Yankees out of the postseason, and I'm having some fun with this one. Tampa never trailed in the entire ALDS. Drew Rasmussen nearly no-hit New York in Game 1. The Yankees committed four errors in Game 2. And then Game 3 turned into complete chaos at Yankee Stadium. Ryan Vilade took advantage of the short porch. Victor Mesa Jr. launched a 401-foot bomb. Nick Martinez left after taking a comebacker to the back. Anthony Volpe appeared to hit a game-tying home run until replay showed fan interference and overturned it. Then Bryan Baker shut the door in the ninth. Final destination: CANCUN. Elsewhere in October, Cleveland's offense suddenly came alive with nine runs to avoid elimination against the White Sox, including a bases-clearing triple from Jo Adell, while Guardians pitching struck out Chicago 19 times. And the NLCS is set. Milwaukee finished off San Diego 3-1 behind a huge night from Garrett Mitchell, including his robbery of Manny Machado's potential game-tying home run in the eighth. It's Brewers-Dodgers for the NL pennant. Finally, Thursday Night Football is here, which unfortunately means I have to watch the 0-4 Buccaneers again. Jalon Daniels gets his first road start against Dallas, and while I don't trust Tampa to win, I also don't trust the Cowboys enough to cover 8.5. New episodes Monday through Friday.
