Season 1

  1. Episode 1

How To Stop Chasing Ideas And Start Co-Creating With God

Send us Fan Mail What if your abundance of ideas isn’t evidence that you’re scattered—but evidence that you were made in the image of a creative God? In this episode of Co-Create, Lizz Smoak explores the shame many creatives carry when they hear things like, “Here she goes again,” and reframes creativity as part of the Maker’s fingerprint on us. She shares how her own creative life changed when she stopped asking God to bless plans she had already made and began inviting Him into the process from the very beginning. Lizz introduces The Maker’s Way—a rhythm of listening, building, refining, and releasing—and reminds us that rest belongs in the creative process too. Creativity does not have to become a frantic attempt to prove our worth. We can create from acceptance, remain open to refinement, release the outcome, and trust God with what comes next. The episode closes with a simple three-breath listening practice designed to help you ask: God, what are You inviting me to make—and what can wait? Because your job isn’t to force the whole future into view. It’s to stay close to the Maker and faithfully tend what He places in your hands. Follow me for more on LinkedIn

  2. Episode 2

How To Know If An Idea Is From God

Send us Fan Mail We wrestle with the question every faith-filled creative eventually asks: is this idea from God or just something shiny.  We share five grounded questions that turn discernment into doable next steps.  • Separating invitation from execution • Letting go of “instant success” as proof you heard God  • Why fear can show up alongside obedience  • 5 questions to test a God-given idea for alignment, persistence, service, obedience, and next steps  • A simple journaling practice to carry an idea without forcing the answer  You can download it at TheMakersWay.com and let's put the Makers Way into practice together. 3. Episode 3

Your clutter is blocking God's voice

Send us Fan Mail You can be faithful, generous, and constantly “doing the right things” and still feel like your creativity is running on fumes. That’s not always a discipline problem. Sometimes it’s a space problem. When life gets crowded, it’s hard to hear God’s direction, hard to think clearly, and hard for the right idea to take root. We talk honestly about modern pressure points: endless scrolling, constant research, and even AI brainstorming that can generate options forever while clarity gets quieter. Then we make it concrete with four “rooms” to clear: your attention, your calendar, your physical environment, and your commitments. You’ll leave with a simple practice to remove, release, or relocate one thing and protect a small pocket of white space for listening. If this helps, subscribe, share it with a creative friend, and leave a review so more makers can find it. Follow me for more on LinkedIn
