Radiance is our natural state of wellbeing and yet it is rarely felt. To be in a radiant state means an embodied vitality, clarity, and connection. The radiant state is marked by a sense of energy and purpose. It is in this state we feel alive, inspired, and radiating a sense of positivity. So, when did you last feel fully alive? Awake in your body, clear and light, with energy for the day ahead and a real appetite for your life. If you can’t remember when, it signals you are in a prolonged state of disconnection. You have forgotten what radiance feels like. Think about how you wake up in the mornings. Do you wake up rested and ready for the day, or does the tiredness remain before the day has even started? Tiredness is designed to be a temporary state of physical or mental fatigue, often resulting from physical exercise, mental exertion or lack of rest and sleep. When tiredness doesn’t resolve after a good nights sleep, when it constantly stays with you, it suggests a deeper chronic state of physical, emotional and mental fatigue known as weariness. Weariness is more than a tired body. You feel it in your mood, your motivation, your interest in the things you love. It often feels like a heaviness or depletion that makes even simple tasks feel monumental. Weariness may lead to emotional dullness. Individuals may feel detached, unable to access joy or excitement. How weariness takes hold. You feel emotionally numb or detached, as if you’re going through the motions of life without really engaging with it. Yet you convince yourself that your current situation is “good enough” even when it feels draining. A sense of dread or heaviness arrives when thinking about change. You find yourself putting off tasks, conversations, or feelings that you know require attention, often rationalizing why “now isn’t the right time.” You say to yourself “I’ll deal with that later” or “I don’t have the energy for that right now” Your mind is in overdrive. You get stuck in loops of analysis, imagining worst-case scenarios or replaying past mistakes. Analysis leads to paralysis and you stay weary. You become defensive. You feel challenged by feedback or suggestions, even when they come from a place of care, leading to arguments or withdrawal. You constantly explain or defend your choices, even to yourself, instead of examining whether they align with your true desires and values. Even tasks that matter to you are repeatedly delayed, often replaced by distractions that provide temporary relief but leave you feeling more exhausted in the long run. As we continually resist the natural changes life brings about, we struggle against the flow, depleting our energy and blocking growth, leading to exhaustion and disconnection from our true selves. The natural mechanisms that keep us energised. Your body is making energy all the time. In every cell, every moment, it produces energy to fuel your thinking, your moving, your repair, your life. When you are at ease with life, that energy flows where it is needed. When you are in a prolonged state of resistance, it changes the physiology of how the body operates. Stay in resistance for long enough and the body starts to go into conserve mode. It senses the shortage of energy and it holds back. It lowers your drive. It dims your interest. It feels like more effort than it is worth. That holding back is what you feel as weariness. Your body is protecting you the only way it can, by slowing you down. Weariness create a physiological environment that contributes to chronic fatigue, emotional depletion, and a sense of being overwhelmed, making it challenging to maintain energy and engagement in daily life. The broken cycle that feeds weariness. Tiredness is meant to be restored. You use your energy, your body asks for rest, and rest fills you back up. This is the natural rest and repair cycle that the body depends on to keep you in a state of wellbeing. And yet we resist the natural tiredness, choosing to push past, prolonging the evening for screen time, going to bed late, cutting the sleep short. So the tiredness carries over, day after day, and builds into something heavier. It becomes weariness. A prolonged state of chronic weariness leads to low motivation and heightened mental resistance to changing this lethargy, creating a vicious cycle that is difficult to escape. And so the odds are stacked against you. To find aliveness we have to conquer resistance. Mental resistance is the subconscious pushback against change, growth, or emotional truth, manifesting as avoidance of tasks or feelings, overthinking, defensiveness to feedback, emotional disconnection, justifications for maintaining the status quo, and procrastination on meaningful actions. If you often find yourself saying "I'll deal with that later," feeling a sense of dread about change, convincing yourself that your current situation is "good enough," or resisting advice that challenges your beliefs, you may be experiencing mental resistance. When something in your life needs to change for the better, a part of you can feel it coming, before you can see it and pushes back. The mind wants to stay in control. It wants to know where it is going and hold on to what it knows. So when it feels the change approaching; It braces. It tightens. It grips harder at the familiar. And that grip is the resistance. The resistance that lives in the mind, while the body carries the weight of it. All that holding on, all that tightening against the change, spends your energy through the day whether you are busy or still. This is where your weariness comes from. The mind refuses to let go, and the body pays for it. Pushing against resistance only makes it worse. When the mind grips on, the body is forced to push through it. Every time you force yourself, you dig deeper into the weariness. The energy tank is empty, because the resistance has already spent it So when resources are drained how can you improve your state of being? Recognizing resistance is the first step toward liberation, realising that you are facing the very barriers you’ve built to keep yourself depleted. To reclaim your energy you need to surrender your resistance. To surrender is let go of resistance to change and allow it to occur. You let go of the grip, and you let yourself be carried. And the moment you release, the energy held in the resistance comes back to you, because you have stopped fighting the current that was carrying you all along. Surrender restores you where effort drains you. It can feel like falling, and yet it is the moment you are held. Surrender is the conscious choice to let go of control. Surrender is an act of trust in the flow of life and a willingness to embrace what is, instead of what you think should be. To surrender, we need to first cultivate awareness, recognizing that resistance exists. This requires honesty about patterns of avoidance, fear, and control that we have clung to in our live. Letting go of control is essential, which can be terrifying as it challenges deeply rooted beliefs about safety and security. Facing fear is the crux of it all, as resistance often stems from fear of failure, vulnerability, or the unknown. Surrender means confronting these fears rather than avoiding them. When you can acknowledge where you are without defensiveness, and without judgment, then acceptance follows, You can be fully present to the reality of what is happening in the moment, rather than lost in past regrets or future anxieties. From this place of presence we can replace fear with trust. Trusting in the unknown is the game changer, as surrender requires faith in something greater than oneself, an intelligence that weaves through the fabric of existence, whether it be the universe, divine timing, or inner wisdom. It means trusting that life will unfold as it should, even if it doesn’t match expectations. Learning to surrender through the body This is how to give yourself over to surrender, where you release the grip and allow life to steer. You surrender through the body, because the body already knows how. Surrender lies beyond thinking, because thinking is effort, and effort is the push you are leaving behind. Your body already surrenders a hundred times a day. Every exhale is a letting go. Every time your shoulders drop, that is release. The body knows surrender as a feeling long before the mind knows it as a concept. So you start small. You let one grip go. You let one breath out all the way, You feel what happens. Something eases, your chest opens a little, your body sinks a bit deeper into whatever holds it. That feeling is your first proof, and it comes before any belief. There is a sense of calm emerging as tension dissipates, and then clarity, allowing new perspectives, insights, and a renewed sense of purpose. You choose faith over fear, and each small release your body answers makes the next one easier. Trust builds like this, in the body, one breath at a time, until you can hand over something bigger. You are trusting what your body keeps showing you, the ease that comes after each release, the energy that returns each time you stop fighting. Hand the resistance over, breath by breath, and the energy it spent on the struggle starts to move again, towards the life taking shape and towards what matters most in it. Freedom becomes available as the constraints of fear and expectation fade, making way for openness to possibilities and a willingness to embrace change. Joy flows more easily, bringing pleasure in simple moments and a renewed appreciation for life. Ultimately, surrender aligns one with their authentic self, enabling recognition and pursuit of true desires rather than the dictates of fear or societal pressure. Surrender is a powerful antidote to resistance. It requires awareness, acceptance, trust, and vulnerability. The rewards are life changing: relief, calmness, clarity, freedom, joy, and alignment with one’
