    RoostCast 455: Grit and Grace

    Ryan is back from a lovely time down south, and so the show opens with a bit of South Carolina talk before a dive into another Bills preseason game where the team looked good overall and the opponent seems to have big issues to deal with. Too bad! Seriously, it's hard to avoid the mess the Cleveland Browns have made with Deshaun Watson, so there's a lot of talk about a bad franchise first. But then there's some real optimism about the Bills this season, and what you can take away from preseason games and actually get excited about. Ryan and Prescott also talk about the tragic news regarding Ed Oliver and his family, who may have reported or not reported what, and talk a bit about extending grace to human beings. There's some soccer talk, too, and a bit of thanks to you for listening at the end. It's an exciting time around these parts, with real NFL football and the return of hockey a few weeks away as well. We're so thankful you let us into your lives with this show, and hope you're as excited for what's ahead as we are.

    RoostCast 454: Cranium First

    Ryan is out avenging the dead from the Battle of Fort Sumter (fun fact! the death toll was 0), so Prescott brought in old friend and author extraordinaire, Victoria Zeller, to be this week's guest host. The two have a lovely chat about the state of the Bills, the state of the new Highmark stadium, and the state of their health after listening to a few seconds of the Pat McAfee album. Who will be the Bills biggest x-factor this season? Just how loud will it be in the new stadium? Was there really nobody in MAGAfee's personal life to tell him his record sucks?     RoostCast 453: Caveat Emptor

    The Buffalo Bills hosted the first event at the new Highmark Stadium back on Saturday, and the Goose's Roost was well represented. On this week's show, Prescott regales Ryan with tails from an afternoon in Orchard Park he won't soon forget. Both lament the fact that it's 2026 and new stadiums still come with seats featuring obstructed views. Despite an offseason that's been anything but smooth for the Bills, there are still reasons to believe they will be among the best in the AFC. For a nice change of pace, Prescott is the one viewing the glass half full this time. Even for someone who had a great time on Saturday, drawbacks were uncovered. Prescott delivers maybe the longest uninterrupted spiel in Roostcast history, but it's a thorough exam of the building the Bills will call home for at least the next 30 years. It's mid-August, and just like the Bils, this show is rounding into form. 2026 could be the greatest year of our lives. Remember, kids, "Great moments are born from great opportunity."     RoostCast 452: Grand Opening

    Ryan and Prescott are reunited at last and have a frank discussion about the state of the Buffalo Bills as the new season approaches. Are they going to be good? How much should we invest in the year ahead? And why to the vibes feel a bit off? The new stadium, a brief glimpse at other teams and their good players, and a bunch of other stuff comes up. It's a good way to start the season, I think, and we hope you enjoy it. The two also talk a bit about FIFA turmoil, though the real soccer talk is yet to come as the transfer window churn continues. Plenty of time for all of that in the months to come. As you can see from the post image above, Prescott did get his stickers. But if you're still waiting for merch, drop us a line!     RoostCast 451: Business, Business, Business

    The Buffalo Bills returned to Pittsford this week to open training camp, and it feels like the perfect time to get reacquainted with American football. For this week's show, Prescott is back, but now Ryan is out gallivanting around the US. In his place, the great Katherine Fitzgerald from The Buffalo News makes her RoostCast debut! Events move quickly, and there is much to discuss! Prescott and Katherine packed a ton into this nearly two-hour episode, and they could have gone longer. While dishing out analysis and info about new faces and new places, they also weave in stories about past training camps, life covering the Bills, and the joys of cat parenting. Why, it's an instant classic! Ryan will be back next week, and once the regular season starts, the show will return to two episodes per week. We have been tickled pink by the photos of SHOOT! pennants arriving at Patrons' homes, and the feedback has been terrific. We cannot thank you enough.     With Prescott out traveling the world, Ryan asked frequent contributor Greg Bauch to jump in and chat. And chat they did, about all sorts of things like South Buffalo turf wars, get rich quick schemes, and even some Sabres and Bills talk. Ryan also took a baby to Fenway Park, so they got into that as well. The two also talked about Unbelievable, Greg's new book which you should check out right here.     Ryan and Prescott start off this episode talking about the World Cup semifinals, which were as excellent as the rest of the tournament.
