Week 4 of Armor of God (Shield of Faith)

The Armor of God – Week 3: The Shield of Faith What does it mean to have faith when we can’t see God or understand everything about Him? In Week 3 of our Armor of God series, we explore the Shield of Faith and the powerful truth of Hebrews 11:1: “Now faith is the confidence in what we hope for, the assurance about what we do not see.” Faith doesn’t require us to have every answer. It means trusting who God is and what He has promised, even when life doesn’t make sense. Discover how the Shield of Faith helps us stand firm against the doubts, fears, and questions that the evil one sends our way, and how God often makes His presence most evident in our hardest moments. Join us as we learn to walk by faith, not by sight, and find confidence, assurance, and joy in the One who holds us in His promises.

Week 3 of Armor of God (Breastplate of Righteousness)

In this devotional, we look at Adam and Jesus as the “old Adam” and the “new Adam.” Adam’s disobedience brought sin and death into the world, but Jesus’ perfect obedience brought forgiveness, life, and restoration. Where Adam failed, Jesus succeeded. And because of Jesus, we have hope and new life in Him.

Week 1 of Armor of God (Sizing up the enemy)

The Armor of God: The Enemy Is Real, But So Is Our Savior What does it mean to live in the middle of a spiritual battle? As we begin the Armor of God study, Week 1 challenges us to recognize that although the battle may be invisible, it is very real. There is an enemy—but there is also a Savior who has already won the victory. In this devotional, we look at James 4:7–8 and what it means to submit and draw near to God, resist the devil, and take sin seriously through repentance. We’re reminded that our response to spiritual battle isn’t to try to fight on our own. Instead, we turn toward God, stand firm in Christ, and trust His promises. The Armor of God isn't about making us superheroes or giving us strength to win a battle ourselves. It reminds us that we belong to Jesus—and that Jesus has already won. So when life feels like a game of whack-a-mole, with one struggle after another popping up, don't forget to look beneath the surface. And don't be afraid. The enemy is real, but so is our Savior. And our Savior has already won. As you head into the rest of the Armor of God study, consider three questions: Am I drawing near to God? Am I resisting the enemy's lies? Is there something in my own heart that God is calling me to repent of? “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” — James 4:8

    Focused

In this G4G devotional, Stephanie looks at Nehemiah 6 and the powerful statement, “I am doing a great work and I cannot come down.” Nehemiah’s enemies tried to distract him from rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem, but he recognized what God had called him to do and refused to lose focus. Stephanie explores the difference between simply being focused and knowing what is truly worth focusing on. In our busy lives, we can become distracted by good things and lose sight of the most important things—our relationship with Jesus, time in God’s Word, prayer, family, and serving others. This devotional encourages us to develop the discernment to recognize distractions and confidently stay focused on the work God has given us.

    Stillness vs War

In the middle of a world filled with conflict, chaos, and uncertainty, God calls us to something that can feel impossible: “Be still, and know that I am God.” In this G4G Devotional, we reflect on Psalm 46:8–11 and the tension between war and stillness. While the world around us may rage, God remains our refuge, our strength, and our peace. Stillness isn't pretending the battles don't exist—it is trusting the One who is greater than every battle. Join us as we pause, listen to God's Word, and remember that He is God—even when everything around us feels anything but still.
