Pastor With Two Wives?... & Trump’s Nicki Minaj Comments?! | Christian Discernment Bonus Episode (Live)

How should Christians respond to controversial current events while remaining grounded in the Word of God? In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, Tay Lewis discusses current events, Christian convictions, and the importance of exercising biblical discernment in a culture driven by public opinion, social media reactions, and personalities. The conversation begins with the discussion surrounding Pastor Israel Ford and the controversy involving a pastor having two wives. What does Scripture teach about marriage and leadership within the church? How should the body of Christ respond when controversial situations arise? And why must we examine the actions of spiritual leaders through the Word of God rather than blindly defending individuals because of their position? Tay also addresses President Donald Trump’s comments about Nicki Minaj’s butt and the reactions circulating across social media. How should Christians approach conversations like these? What should our responses reveal about our values, convictions, and commitment to representing Jesus Christ? These discussions challenge us to look beyond headlines, personal opinions, and emotional reactions. As followers of Christ, we are called to test what we hear, seek wisdom through Scripture, and ensure that our beliefs and responses align with the truth of God’s Word. In this episode, we discuss: Pastor Israel Ford and the conversation surrounding marriage and church leadership Biblical standards for marriage and spiritual accountability President Donald Trump’s comments about Nicki Minaj and the reactions on social media The importance of Christian discernment when evaluating current events Responding to controversial situations with biblical convictions Standing firm in truth rather than following popular opinion The goal isn't to follow the crowd. How to Let Go of Emotional Burdens and Give Them to God | Christian Encouragement Episode 42

Have you been holding everything in? The resentment, frustration, hurt, pressure, expectations, and emotions you don't know how to express? Sometimes, we become so accustomed to telling ourselves to be strong and keep pushing that we forget it's okay to be honest about how we feel. It's okay to cry, acknowledge our struggles, and bring our burdens before our Heavenly Father. In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, we're discussing the importance of releasing our emotional burdens and surrendering them to God instead of allowing resentment, bitterness, strife, and other negative emotions to take root in our hearts. The world may tell us to suck it up, suppress our emotions, and keep moving. But God's Word invites us to come to Him when we're weary, burdened, and struggling. We'll also discuss the importance of spending intentional time in God's presence. Our relationship with Him shouldn't revolve solely around asking for things or presenting Him with a list of requests. Sometimes, we need to sit quietly before Him, pour out our hearts, and have an honest conversation about what's happening within us. God is not just someone we turn to when we need something. He is our Father, and He desires a genuine relationship with us. We must learn to surrender our burdens to Him rather than allowing the things we're carrying to become the things we identify with. Scriptures to Reflect On: 1 Peter 5:7 — Cast your cares upon Him because He cares for you. Matthew 11:28–30 — Jesus invites the weary and burdened to find rest in Him. Psalm 62:8 — Pour out your heart before God. Philippians 4:6–7 — Bring your concerns to God and experience His peace. Your encouragement for today: Set aside intentional time to be alone with God. Put the distractions away, sit in His presence, and talk to Him about what's really happening in your heart. You don't have to pretend everything is okay when you're with your Father. Remember, acknowledging what you're carrying is not the same as allowing it to control you. Bring it before God and allow Him to work in your heart. If this message encourages you, follow the podcast, share this episode with someone who needs encouragement, and continue growing in Christ. Let's keep walking in truth, strengthening our faith, and building a genuine relationship with God. Reflection Question: What is something you've been holding on to that you need to surrender to God? #ChristianEncouragement #GiveItToGod #ChristianLiving #FaithInGod #SpiritualGrowth

Friday Recap: Reflecting on Your Faith, Temptations & Spiritual Growth | Episode 41

When was the last time you honestly examined your walk with God? In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, we’re introducing a new Friday routine focused on spiritual reflection, accountability, and growth. We’re slowing things down to look back on the week, evaluate our actions, recognize where we’ve fallen short, and identify the areas where God is calling us to grow. Are we sharing the Gospel? Are our words and actions reflecting Christ? Are we resisting temptation? Are we sharing our testimonies and encouraging others through what God has done in our lives? These are important questions we need to ask ourselves as we continue pursuing Christ. Our spiritual growth requires intentionality, honesty, and a willingness to take accountability for our actions. This isn't about striving for perfection or condemning ourselves for our mistakes. It's about examining our hearts, learning from our shortcomings, and allowing God to transform us. Our testimonies have the power to encourage others and remind them of God's faithfulness. Never underestimate the impact of sharing what God has brought you through. Join me every Friday for these spiritual check-ins as we reflect on our walk with God, challenge ourselves to grow, and encourage one another to live out our faith daily. Reflection Questions: Did you share the Gospel or minister to someone this week? Did your words and actions reflect Christ? Where did you give in to temptation or fall short? What has God been teaching you? What is one area where you want to grow spiritually next week? Take a moment to examine your heart and reflect on your week. What is one thing you did this week that helped you grow closer to God, and what is one area you want to improve? Share your reflection, and let's continue growing together in Christ. If this episode encourages you, be sure to follow the podcast, share it with someone who needs encouragement, and join the SpreadHisWordTay community as we continue pursuing Christ and walking in His truth. Scripture for Reflection: 2 Corinthians 13:5 — Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith. #SpreadHisWordTay #ChristianPodcast #SpiritualGrowth #WalkWithGod #ChristianEncouragement

Why You Keep Settling for Less | Discipline, Sacrifice & Personal Growth | Episode 40

Have you become so comfortable with where you are that you've stopped giving your best? Are you settling for less than what you desire because you're unwilling to count the cost? In this episode, I challenge the mindset of complacency, comfortability, and settling for less. Many of us desire more for ourselves, but when it comes time to make the sacrifices necessary to get there, we hesitate. We blame our lack of money, resources, or opportunities when sometimes the real issue is our lack of discipline, commitment, and willingness to sacrifice. I share an example from my own high school experience, when I settled for what I considered my best instead of pushing myself beyond what was comfortable. I also discuss how the conditions we place on our decisions can influence our behavior long before we actually take action. Think about a job you're planning to leave. You haven't put in your notice, but because you've already decided you're leaving, your attitude toward the job begins to change. Your effort decreases, your commitment weakens, and your actions begin to reflect a decision you haven't officially made. The same thing can happen in relationships. You may not have ended the relationship, but your effort, actions, and commitment have already started to change. So ask yourself: Are you giving your all, or have you already made up your mind to settle? We often want the results without accepting the responsibility and sacrifice required to achieve them. But growth requires sacrifice. Discipline requires consistency. And commitment means continuing to show up even when it's uncomfortable. It's time to examine the conditions we've placed on our lives, recognize where complacency has taken root, and ask ourselves an honest question: Is that really the most we can do, or have we simply become comfortable doing less? A Generation That Doesn’t Fear God | The Fear of the Lord | Episode 39

What does it truly mean to fear the Lord? And why does it seem like so many people want the promises of God without the reverence, obedience, and consecration that come with living for Him? In this episode of the SpreadHisWordTay Podcast, I take an honest look at the fear of the Lord, what Scripture teaches us about reverence for God, and what happens when a generation loses sight of who He truly is. 📖 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. — Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord isn't about living in constant terror of God. It's about recognizing His holiness, respecting His authority, and understanding that He deserves our reverence, obedience, and wholehearted devotion. In this message, I examine the connection between Proverbs 1:7 and 2 Timothy 3:1–5, which describes the attitudes and behaviors that will characterize people in the latter days. I also explore the biblical call to holiness and consecration in 2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1 and what it means to live a life set apart for God's purposes. God has given us precious promises, and there is joy in what He has promised His people. However, we cannot separate the promises of God from the call to honor Him with our lives. We cannot continually ask for His blessings while disregarding His Word and resisting His authority. I also go back to the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 to examine Eve's encounter with temptation. What happens when we entertain the enemy instead of standing firmly on what God has spoken? When reverence for God is no longer at the forefront of our hearts, we become increasingly vulnerable to temptation, deception, and compromise. The fear of the Lord should influence how we live, what we entertain, the decisions we make, and how we respond to the Word of God. It is not something we practice only when it is convenient. In a time when many want God's blessings without submitting to His authority, I believe we need to return to a genuine, biblical reverence for the Lord. SCRIPTURES DISCUSSED Proverbs 1:7 — The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. 2 Timothy 3:1–5 — The character and conduct of people in the latter days. 2 Corinthians 6:14–7:1 — Separation, holiness, and cleansing ourselves from defilement. Genesis 3 — Adam and Eve, temptation, deception, and the consequences of disregarding God's command. LET'S TALK ABOUT IT Do you believe our generation has lost its reverence for God? What does it look like to genuinely fear the Lord in your everyday life? Share your thoughts and reflections. Let's have an honest conversation rooted in the Word of God. How to Overcome Self-Condemnation as a Christian | Romans 10:10–11 - Episode 38

Have you ever struggled with guilt, felt unworthy before God, or questioned whether you're doing enough to be considered righteous? In this episode of the SpreadHisWordTay audio podcast, I discuss the biblical principle of belief unto righteousness and how we can overcome self-condemnation by understanding what Jesus Christ has already accomplished for us. Using Romans 10:10–11 (Amplified Bible), I break down what it means to believe in our hearts, confess Jesus Christ as Lord, and place our trust and confidence in Him rather than our own performance. I also discuss how we can fall into a Pharisaical mindset by constantly focusing on our shortcomings, measuring our relationship with God by what we do, and allowing guilt to overshadow the truth of His Word. This isn't about ignoring sin or making excuses for disobedience. It's about understanding justification through Jesus Christ and recognizing that our righteousness is rooted in Him, not our ability to be perfect. In this episode, we explore: What belief unto righteousness means according to Romans 10:10–11 Why our righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ How self-condemnation and guilt can hinder our walk with God The difference between freedom from sin's dominion and pretending sin no longer exists What Romans 8:1 teaches us about condemnation in Christ How a lack of understanding of Scripture can keep us trapped in guilt Why understanding justification should give us confidence to obey God and boldly speak His truth Scriptures referenced: Romans 10:10–11 Romans 8:1 Romans 6 Romans 3:22–24 The goal isn't to give ourselves permission to live however we want. It's to stop allowing our failures to define our identity and start living according to the truth of what Jesus Christ has done. When we understand our position in Christ, we can pursue obedience without believing we must earn the righteousness He provides. We don't put our confidence in our own perfection. We put our confidence in Jesus Christ. 💬 LET'S KEEP THE CONVERSATION GOING! Have you ever struggled with self-condemnation or felt like you had to prove yourself to God? What has helped you understand your righteousness in Christ? Share your thoughts in the comments. What Does “Come As You Are” Really Mean? | Church, Judgment & God’s Love — Episode 37

What does “come as you are” really mean when it comes to the church? In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, I discuss what it means to welcome people into the church without compromising the truth of God's Word. We often say that people can come as they are, but are we showing them the love, patience, and grace of Jesus Christ when they actually walk through the doors? I believe the church should be a place where broken, hurting, lost, and searching people can encounter Christ. The church is like a hospital—not because we should celebrate sin, but because people need a place where they can hear the truth, experience God's love, and begin the process of transformation. For some people, simply walking into a church is a significant step of faith. They may not understand the Holy Spirit, know what to expect, or even understand why they feel drawn to attend. How we respond to them can make a difference. In this conversation, I explore the importance of Christian hospitality, the difference between welcoming people and compromising biblical truth, and why we must allow God to work in people's lives rather than expecting them to change before they have encountered Him. In this episode, I discuss: What “come as you are” really means in Christianity. Why the church should welcome people who are hurting, broken, and searching. The difference between loving people and compromising God's Word. Why judgment and criticism can create barriers for people seeking Christ. How Christians can demonstrate the love and truth of Jesus through their actions. My goal is to challenge how we approach people who walk through the church doors and remind us that we are called to reflect Christ in how we love, welcome, teach, and disciple others. What does “come as you are” mean to you? What Is Good According to God? | How to Know What God Calls Good — Episode 36

What if what we think is “good” isn’t actually what God has called good? And what if we have access to what we need through Christ but aren’t fully walking in what He has made available to us? In this episode of SpreadHisWordTay, I’m diving into two important topics that challenge how we understand our faith: God’s standard of what is good and the access we have been given through Jesus Christ. We live in a world that encourages us to follow our hearts, pursue happiness, and make decisions based on what feels right. But as Christians, we have to ask ourselves a more important question: Does what I consider good actually align with the Word of God? Something can feel right, look right, and even sound right while still being contrary to God's will. Our feelings and personal understanding cannot replace the truth of Scripture. Following Christ requires us to surrender our own standards and learn to see things through the lens of God's Word. We also discuss the access we have been given through Christ and what it means to actually walk in that access. Having access to God, growing in faith, and depending on the work of the Holy Spirit are not things we should take for granted. We must examine whether our expectations, confidence, and willingness to trust God reflect the access He has made available to us. Sometimes, we ask God for more while overlooking what He has already given us. The questions we need to ask ourselves are: Am I defining good by God's Word or by my own understanding? Am I making decisions based on feelings or biblical truth? Do I truly understand the access I have through Jesus Christ? Am I actively walking in what God has already made available to me? This conversation is a reminder that Scripture must be our foundation, our faith must be rooted in Christ, and our understanding must be continually shaped by God's truth.
