Trusting God When Your Adult Child Is Struggling

Time to TRUST God and receive His peace. Have you ever gotten a phone call about one of your adult children that sends your nervous system into overdrive? Your heart races, your chest tightens, and suddenly that familiar stress-related acid indigestion—or even a panic-like feeling—shows up. If you've experienced this, you're not alone. But there is something more real than our anxiety and stress: God's peace. In this episode of the Praying Mama Club, Karen McMullin talks about how to shift our focus from the problems surrounding our adult children to the God who is bigger than those problems. The Key to God's Peace is trusting God Isaiah 26:3 gives us a powerful promise: "You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.  Trust in the LORD forever, for in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength." — Isaiah 26:3-4 NKJV T.R.U.S.T. Karen uses the word TRUST as a reminder of who God is and how we can respond when we're worried about our adult children. T — Tenderhearted God is merciful and loving toward us and toward our children. His lovingkindness endures forever. R — Reliable God doesn't change. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We can depend on Him. U — Unfailing God's love never runs out. His mercies are new every morning. S — Shepherd The Lord is our Shepherd. He leads, restores, protects, and cares for His sheep. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who cares for us and intercedes for us. T — Triumphant Jesus warned us that we would have trouble, but He also declared that He had overcome the world. Because we belong to Him, we can stand in His victory. What Does TRUST Look Like? When we're trusting God for our adult children, we can: T — Turn our eyes toward HimR — Rest in His loving careU — Unload our burdens on HimS — Stand firm and unwavering in HimT — Treasure Him by spending time in His presence We may not be able to control our adult child's choices—but we can choose where we focus our eyes. Instead of continually looking at the problem, we can look to the One who holds our child in His hands. Don't Pray Alone If you're a mama who is praying for an adult child or grandchild, you don't have to walk this journey alone. Inside the Praying Mama Club, women gather together to study God's Word, pray together, and encourage one another as they trust God for their children and grandchildren. PMC Episode 001 | Praying for an Adult Child?

Have you ever felt forgotten while praying for your child? Maybe you have wondered: "Does God really see what is happening?" "Does He hear my prayers?" "Is He working when I cannot see any change?" If you have ever felt lonely, afraid, or weary as you stand in prayer for your child, this episode is for you. In this first episode of the Praying Mama Club Podcast, we begin with one of the most comforting names of God: El Roi — The God Who Sees Me. Through the story of Hagar in Genesis 16, we discover that God sees us in our wilderness seasons. He knows exactly where we are, He knows what we are facing, and He is still working even when we cannot see the outcome. And the same God who saw Hagar sees you and your child today. Scriptures Mentioned Genesis 16:13"Then she called the name of the LORD who spoke to her, You-Are-the-God-Who-Sees..." (NKJV) Psalm 139:7"Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?" Isaiah 43:1"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine." Ephesians 4:1Walk worthy of the calling you have received. Acts 13:22David was described as a man after God's own heart. In This Episode, You Will Discover: ✨ God sees you in your wilderness season.✨ God knows exactly where your child is.✨ You are not forgotten or alone.✨ God is working even when you cannot see the evidence yet.✨ You can replace fear with faith and pray with confidence. A Word of Encouragement for the Praying Mama Your child is not outside the reach of God. The same God who found Hagar in the wilderness knows exactly where your child is today. God loves your child even more than you do. As you grow in knowing God and trusting His character, your prayers become powerful because they are rooted in who He is — not in what you can see. Declaration of Faith Say this with me: God knows exactly where my child is.God knows where I am.I am not alone.God is working even when I cannot see.I trust my child into the hands of El Roi, the God who sees me. Prayer Lord God, El Roi, You are the God who sees. Help me know deep inside that You are watching over my child and my household. May my child walk worthy of the calling of Jesus Christ. Give my child a heart like David — a heart that desires You and wants to do Your will. I trust You because You see what I cannot see. In Jesus' name, Amen.
