Hale Zero: Luxury Fashion’s Favourite DJs

Episode 1 HALE ZERO Please welcome HALE ZERO to Tuneful Radio! My guests today go the name of Hale Zero. They are 3 brothers changing the musical landscape of the fashion world one party at a time. Not only are they THE go to DJ’s for all the best fashion parties (you only have to check their website for the long list of notable clients), they are also music producers, composers and artists. They are gifted polymaths. Renaissance men of our time and I’m so happy to introduce them to you today! Please welcome to Tuneful Radio, Carl, Greg and Raf of Hale Zero! In this episode Hale Zero describe the sounds of their childhood, learning to play music by ear from the Jazz CDs of their father, extending that hands on education to playing music in church.  They attended the renowned Brit School and even suggested that I would fit in there! Their journey takes them from studying art at Central St Martins, through to being session musicians to working as music producers and composers.  They’ve done it all and their DJ career is just the tip of the iceberg!   We touch upon what they think is THE most iconic HipHop beat of all time and we find out why they think rock guitarists are better than gospel guitarists! This conversation for me was confirmation to trust your gut, keep moving forward and expressing your creativity in everything that you do!   Enjoy! Spies Like Us – Doctor Scene Groundhog Day – Cake Scene Spotlight Artist This is where we look to the future with hope and I share with my guest and unsigned artist who I think they might like! In The Forest Music Genre: Indie, Folk, Alternative In the Forest is an indie-folk group comprised of two sisters and two couples. Becky and Alex and Rachel and Bob. “A little bit about our song Tired… Around 5 years ago Becky travelled around South India and whilst on a very long train journey to Mumbai she came up with the riff for the Chorus. The idea kind of stopped there and a few years later she remembered the riff and that’s when the song-writing began. Lyrics were written by Becky & Rachel and the music written and developed (from a very simple riff) by the boys. As a group we worked on developing the structure and harmonies. The lyrics were inspired after reading some of Rupi Kaur’s poetry where she uses concepts of fire to represent strength. Our lyrics ‘I’m the fire, I’m the flame’ really represents the time you realise that you are stronger than the person who tried to bring you down and it’s statement of ‘I’m totally over this and I am stronger than ever’. “ Artists that are similar/ have inspired In The Forest The Staves, The Roches, Fleetwood Mac, Mountain Man and This is the kit.
