You're Already Invited | The Harvest: The Workers Are Few | MEC English Service

When Jesus looks out at the crowds in Matthew 9, he is deeply moved with compassion for the people who feel beaten down, lonely, and cast aside. There is so much healing and connection waiting to happen all around us, yet we often miss the harvest because we are caught up in our own self-interest, stuck in our own heads, or waiting for someone else to invite us to help. When we start consistently praying for the brokenness in the world, God softens our hearts, opens our eyes to the hurting people right in front of us, and sends us out to be the very workers we were praying for. The Problem: We get caught up in ourselves and fail to notice the hurting people around usThe Solution: Pray for the brokenness in the world and recognize you are already invited to helpThe Application: Ask God for eyes to see the lonely and step out to bring his kingdom where you are

It’s A Fruit Issue | The Harvest: Soil Makes a Difference | MEC English Service

In the Parable of the Sower Jesus reveals that the internal condition of our hearts directly determines the kind of external impact we have on the world. When our hearts are hard and cynical, shallow and avoidant, or choked out by the thorny distractions of everyday life, the real seed of truth cannot take root inside of us. But when we invite God to break up those three bad soils, we can finally cultivate a healthy heart that produces genuine fruit and leaves a lasting positive impact on the world around us. The Problem: We allow our hearts to become hard shallow or choked by worldly distractions which prevents truth from taking root and impacting the world The Solution: Invite God to break up the bad soils of cynicism and distraction so your heart can properly receive the seed The Application: Deliberately cultivate good soil in your daily life so you can produce genuine fruit and make the world a better place

Wisdom Isn't Knowing Everything | Three Voices of Wisdom: The Veteran | MEC English Service

When tragedy strikes we often rush to fix the pain or find a logical explanation for our suffering. By exploring the story of Job we discover that true wisdom is not about having all the answers but rather learning to trust a sovereign God even when our world completely falls apart. The Problem: We try to logically explain away tragedy or offer empty solutions instead of just sitting with people in their pain The Solution: Recognize that God is infinitely beyond our understanding and we will not always get a neat answer for our suffering The Application: Enjoy the present moment and simply sit with others in their pain while trusting God with the unknown

Why Doing Everything Right Doesn't Always Work Out | Three Voices of Wisdom: The Professor | MEC English Service

We often treat life like a simple equation where if we follow all the rules and make wise choices we are guaranteed a perfect outcome. The book of Proverbs gives us an incredible framework for how to live well and make good decisions, but what happens when you do everything right and things still fall apart? The book of Ecclesiastes leans into this exact frustration, reminding us that life is unpredictable and our best efforts do not always equal success. But even when life feels unfair or out of our control we do not have to lose hope. God invites us to stop stressing over the outcomes we cannot dictate and instead find genuine joy and trust in the present moment. The Problem: We expect our good choices to always guarantee a perfect and predictable outcome The Solution: Accept that life is unpredictable and let go of the need for perfect control The Application: Find joy in the present moment and place your ultimate hope in God

Why Do We Crave Connection? | Don't Skip a Book: Song of Songs | August 30, 2026

We all have a deep desire to be fully known and loved, yet we constantly hide behind masks and barriers. The sermon explains that this struggle goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden, where perfect intimacy was broken by shame. When we look closely at the bold language in the Song of Songs, we see a picture of what it looks like to return to that unashamed closeness. God is inviting us to drop our fig leaves and step into the profound and unfiltered connection we were originally created to experience. The Problem: We hide behind shame and fear instead of experiencing true closeness The Solution: Allow God to remove your barriers and love you fully The Application: Step into the unashamed intimacy you were created for
