    The Circumcised Heart

How often do believers trade genuine relationship with Jesus Christ for the empty checklist of man-made religious tradition? In this broadcast of *Chozen's Place*, Charles walks through the scriptures to examine what the Apostle Paul and Jesus Himself taught about breaking free from ceremonialism and receiving true, inward spiritual transformation. Beginning in Colossians 2:6–15 with the Daily Bread devotional theme *"Not Ritual, But Christ,"* we examine why Paul warned the church against being spoiled by worldly philosophy, vain deceit, and the traditions of men. We see how the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 15 substituted God's commandments with man-made rules—cleaning the outside of the cup while leaving the heart defiled. Charles shares an honest personal testimony about placing self-imposed burdens on Bible study and highlights Jesus’ gentle reminder in Matthew 11:28–30: *"My yoke is easy, and my burden is light."* Going deeper into Deuteronomy 10:15–16, Colossians 2:16–23, Galatians 4:1–11, and Romans 2:25–29, this study addresses the biblical reality of the circumcision of the heart—a cutting away of the flesh performed without hands by the Holy Spirit. Using the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector in Luke 18, we are challenged to move past superficial holiness, examine our daily walk before God, and embrace the complete freedom and sufficiency found in Christ Jesus alone. ### Key Scripture References: * **Colossians 2:6–15; 1:21–23; 2:16–23** – Walking rooted in Christ, dead to the rudiments and ordinances of the world. * **Matthew 15:1–11** – Transgressing God's commandments through human tradition. * **Matthew 11:28–30** – Christ's rest for the weary and heavy-laden. * **Deuteronomy 10:15–16** – Circumcising the foreskin of the heart. * **1 John 4:1–3** – Trying and testing the spirits. * **Galatians 4:1–11** – Refusing to return to weak and beggarly elements. * **2 Timothy 4:1–5** – Preaching the Word and enduring sound doctrine. * **Romans 2:25–29** – Circumcision of the heart in the Spirit, not the letter. * **Luke 18:9–14** – The justification of the humble publican vs. the religious Pharisee.

    Listening For God

When we enter into prayer, do we rush into God’s presence with a barrage of words, or do we enter with reverence, ready to hear what the King has to say? In this broadcast, Chozen’s Place opens up **Ecclesiastes 5:1–5** to examine a vital yet frequently overlooked discipline in the Christian walk: listening for God. Solomon writes, *"Keep thy foot when thou goest to the house of God, and be more ready to hear, than to give the sacrifice of fools... God is in heaven, and thou upon earth: therefore let thy words be few."* Through an in-depth journey across the Scriptures, we explore how biblical prayer is fundamentally a two-way relationship and an ongoing walk in the Spirit, rather than an anxious checklist of demands. ### Key Biblical Themes Covered in This Teaching: * **The Prayer Meditative State:** Moving beyond rigid time formulas and walking in continuous fellowship with the Holy Spirit throughout your day. * **The Power of Brief, Focused Prayer:** Analyzing Christ’s 30-second prayer before calling Lazarus from the grave (**John 11:41–42**) alongside His high-priestly intercession in **John 17**. * **Pouring Out the Heart in Silence:** How Hannah prayed in the tabernacle without uttering an audible word (**1 Samuel 1:9–18**), proving that God hears the deepest yearnings of the heart. * **Vision Producing Labor:** Examining Stephen’s martyrdom in **Acts 7:55–60**, where gazing upon the risen Christ empowered immediate, radical forgiveness. * **Rash Vows and Simplicity:** Christ’s instructions in **Matthew 5:33–37** and **James 5:12** to avoid hasty oaths and let our "Yea be yea; and your Nay, nay." * **Humility Over Eloquence:** Lessons from the return of the Prodigal Son (**Luke 15**) and the tax collector (**Luke 18**), illustrating how brief, repentant prayers invite God’s immediate restoration. * **Lifting Unnecessary Burdens:** A candid reminder that Christ’s yoke is easy and His burden is light (**Romans 12:1–2**), encouraging believers not to choke out spiritual intake with overwhelming self-imposed religious demands. Before rushing into speech today, take time to sit before the throne of grace, quiet your spirit, and listen to what the Lord has to speak into your life. --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags **Keywords:** Listening to God, Ecclesiastes 5, Prayer and Meditation, Hearing God's Voice, Christian Discipleship, How to Pray, Chozen's Place, Hannah's Prayer, Living Sacrifice, Romans 12, Jesus at Lazarus Tomb, Stephen Acts 7, Biblical Prayer Closet, KJV Bible Study **Tags:** Prayer, Bible Study, Christian Walk, Ecclesiastes, Faith, Devotional, Holy Spirit, Discernment, Scripture Meditation **Hashtags:** #BibleStudy #PrayerLife #HearingGod #Ecclesiastes #ChozensPlace #ChristianPodcast #FaithWalk #ScriptureStudy #KJV

    The Need To Fellowship

Why is genuine biblical fellowship essential for every follower of Jesus Christ? In session four of this teaching series, Chozen breaks down what it truly means for the body of Christ to walk together in unity, love, and mutual accountability. Drawing directly from the Scriptures, we examine: - **Psalm 133:1–3:** How unity among brethren is like the precious anointing oil running down Aaron’s beard—an ordained appointment where the Lord commands the blessing. - **1 Corinthians 12:12–20 & Colossians 3:10–14:** Breaking down worldly barriers. In the body of Christ, there is no division of race, social status, or background—Christ is all and in all, bound together by genuine love (*charity*). - **1 Corinthians 1:10:** The biblical call to speak the same thing and be perfectly joined in the same mind and judgment under Christ. - **Acts 2:42–47:** The blueprint of the early Church—continuing steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, fellowshipping, breaking bread from house to house, sharing resources to meet needs, and praising God with gladness and singleness of heart. - **John 13:35 & 1 Corinthians 13:** Why love is not merely speech, but an actionable verb. All people will know we are Christ's disciples by the love we display toward one another. Chozen also shares raw, practical testimony about stepping away from old ungodly circles, crossing through the spiritual desert of isolation, and discovering the vital strength found when believers intentionally gather, encourage, and sharpen one another in everyday life and online ministry. --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags Christian Fellowship, Body of Christ, Bible Study, Psalm 133, Acts 2 42, 1 Corinthians 12, Christian Unity, Biblical Community, KJV Bible Study, Faith in Action, Love One Another, Discipleship, Christian Walk, Non Denominational Teaching #BibleStudy #ChristianFellowship #BodyOfChrist #KingJamesBible #Discipleship #ChristianPodcast #FaithInAction #Acts2 #Psalm133

    What Is Worship?

What does it truly mean to worship God? Is worship merely singing songs on a Sunday morning, or does it encompass every moment, decision, and intention of our daily walk? In Session 3 of our Spiritual Growth series, host Chose examines the foundational biblical question: **"Where am I in terms of worshiping God?"** Moving past surface definitions, this study traces Scripture from the Psalms through the Epistles to reveal that worship is our "reasonable service"—a wholehearted, daily living sacrifice. ### Key Biblical Themes Covered: - **Giving Glory Due Unto His Name (Psalm 29:1–2):** Understanding what it means to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness and redirecting our time, focus, and energy toward Him. - **The Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:36–38):** Loving the Lord God with all your heart, soul, and mind as the primary orientation of the believer's life. - **Identity Beyond the World:** Placing identity firmly in Christ rather than worldly status, metrics, career titles, or outside interests. - **The Humility and Servant Mind of Christ (Philippians 2:5–8):** Embracing Christ’s sacrificial submission to the Father's will and working out our salvation with reverence. - **Dismantling Modern Idolatry (Psalm 115:4–8; Romans 1:18–32):** Recognizing how easily possessions, health, relationships, or material pursuits can take God's rightful place, and the spiritual danger of worshiping the creature rather than the Creator. - **Kingdom Priorities vs. Earthly Anxiety (Matthew 6:19–34):** Laying up treasures in heaven, keeping a single eye on God, and trusting Him to provide all our daily needs. - **The Living Sacrifice & Mind Renewal (Romans 12:1–2; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20):** Presenting our bodies—bought with the precious price of Christ's blood—holy and acceptable to God, refusing worldly conformity, and letting the Holy Spirit transform our minds. - **The Refiner’s Fire (Malachi 3:2–3; Proverbs 25:4):** Why believers walk through trials: so God can bring the "dross" of carnality, impatience, and pride to the surface and remove it to produce a pure vessel for His honor. Join us as we explore the Word of God, pray for genuine spiritual renewal, and commit to offering our entire lives as an offering of righteousness. --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags **Keywords:** What Is Worship, Biblical Worship, Living Sacrifice, Romans 12 1 2, Spiritual Growth, Mind Renewal, Refiners Fire, Chozen's Place, Non Denominational Bible Study, Christian Discipleship, Greatest Commandment, Temple of the Holy Spirit, Overcoming Idolatry, Daily Devotion **Hashtags:** #BibleStudy #WorshipInSpiritAndTruth #LivingSacrifice #SpiritualGrowth #Romans12 #MindRenewal #RefinersFire #ChristianPodcast #FaithWalk #ScriptureStudy

    Where Are You With God?

When God walked through the Garden of Eden in the cool of the day and asked Adam, *"Where are you?"* (Genesis 3:9), He was not asking because He lacked geographic awareness. As David declared in Psalm 139, there is nowhere we can flee from God's Spirit—He knows our sitting down, our rising up, and our deepest thoughts before a word is on our tongue. In this session of the Spiritual Growth Series, host Choz opens the Scriptures to examine what truly separates mankind from God. Beginning in Genesis 3, we track how human failure began long before the fruit was consumed: it started with mishandling God’s explicit instruction. When Eve engaged the serpent, an unauthorized human fence had already been added to the command: *"nor shall you touch it, lest you die."* We trace this subtle human tendency through Scripture straight into the Gospels, comparing it to the Pharisees of Matthew 15 and Mark 7. Jesus rebuked the religious leaders for elevating oral traditions and man-made fences—such as the loophole of Corban—above the commandments of God, thereby making the Word of God of no effect. Jesus exposed that true defilement does not come from external technicalities, but proceeds out of the unregenerate human heart (Mark 7:21–23). Finally, the study brings the central question directly into your personal walk: **Where are you with God?** Are you hiding behind religious tradition, moral checklists, or the shame and guilt of sin? Christ stepped into our separation as the last Adam, crying out on the cross, *"My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"* so that through His finished work, we might experience no condemnation (Romans 8:1). Drawing from Hebrews 1 and John 1, this broadcast concludes with an urgent call to lay down human excuses, repent, tear down the wall of separation, and receive salvation through Jesus Christ. --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags Bible Study, Where Are You With God, Genesis 3, Psalm 139, Matthew 15, Mark 7, Spiritual Growth, Repentance, Fall of Man, Pharisaic Tradition, Romans 8, Jesus Christ, Salvation Prayer, No Condemnation, Chozen's Place, Faith and Works, Biblical Truth, KJV, Word of God #BibleStudy #SpiritualGrowth #WhereAreYou #Scripture #ChozensPlace #Romans8 #FaithInChrist #Gospel

    The Holy Spirit Equips

In this session, "The Holy Spirit Equips," we journey into the Old Testament to examine how the Spirit of God actively moves, empowers, and furnishes believers to accomplish His divine will. Beginning in Exodus 31, we see how God specifically called Bezaleel and Aholiab by name, filling them with the Spirit of God in wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and all manner of workmanship to craft the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, and all sacred furnishings. God never issues a command without providing the supernatural equipment to carry it out. Through cross-references in 2 Timothy 3:16–17, 2 Corinthians 9:8, and 1 Peter 4:10–11, we examine the divine pattern: God’s Word goes forth, He calls by name, the believer accepts, and the Holy Spirit empowers the work. We also discover God's pattern of sending His servants "two by two" (Mark 6:7) and the comforting assurance of Christ’s constant presence through the indwelling Comforter (Matthew 28:20; John 14:16–26). Finally, we explore the spiritual gifts in 1 Corinthians 12 and close with a heartfelt personal testimony demonstrating that God still speaks directly to the hearts of those who seek Him. Grab your Bible and notepad as we dive deep into the Scriptures to understand how the Holy Spirit equips you for every good work! --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Exodus 31, Bezaleel, Spirit of God, Bible Study, Chozen's Place, Spiritual Gifts, 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Peter 4, Old Testament Holy Spirit, Ark of the Covenant, Christian Podcast, Discipleship, KJV Bible Study #HolySpirit #BibleStudy #Exodus31 #SpiritualGifts #WordOfGod #ChozensPlace #ChristianPodcast #ScriptureStudy

Overcoming The Flesh By The Word Of God

In this final installment of the ten-part series *Lust: The War Within*, we examine the spiritual blueprint for walking in total victory over the desires of the flesh through the living, unchanging Word of God. Drawing lessons from our prior studies—contrasting Eve’s mishandling of God’s instruction, Joseph’s steadfast stance against Potiphar’s wife, and David’s fall when he was out of position—we turn directly to the stark apostolic warnings found in 2 Peter 1 and 2. The Apostle Peter, writing with urgency as an eyewitness of Christ's majesty on the holy mount, reminds us that Scripture is not derived from human will or cunningly devised fables, but was spoken by holy men moved by the Holy Spirit. It serves as a light shining in a dark place until the Day Star rises in our hearts. We dissect 2 Peter 2, where Peter pulls no punches regarding false teachers and self-deceived individuals who operate like "natural brute beasts"—sporting themselves with deceptions, possessing eyes full of adultery, indulging openly in the daytime, and following the destructive path of Balaam for unrighteous gain. Comparing these passages with Romans 1, Galatians 5, Matthew 6, and 1 John 5, we confront the vital question every professing believer must ask: *Do your actions reflect a heart truly regenerated by Christ, or are you still living in bondage to your own desires?* Discover how cultivating a "single eye" focused entirely on the Kingdom of God, crucifying the affections and lusts of the flesh, and relying on the Holy Spirit empowers you to walk as a child of God in true spiritual liberty. --- ## 🏷 Keywords, Tags & Hashtags Bible Study, Lust The War Within, 2 Peter 2, Overcoming Lust, Christian Discipleship, Mortify The Flesh, Spiritual Warfare, Balaam, Walking In The Spirit, Galatians 5, Romans 8, Biblical Truth, Holy Spirit, Chozen's Place, #BibleStudy #ChristianPodcast #OvercomingSin #HolyLiving #WordOfGod #FaithInChrist

    Lust And Intent

In this study, Chozen unpacks the core of Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Mount regarding lust, adultery, and the heart. Reading from **Matthew 5:27–30**, we look beyond surface actions to uncover what Christ directly targeted: the *intent* of the heart. Lust is not merely an accidental passing glance; it involves focused energy, plotting, and giving away affections and strength that rightfully belong to the Lord. God commands us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. When our energy is consumed by pursuing what is not ours, we rob God of the worship and devotion due to Him alone. **Key Biblical Themes Explored in This Episode:** * **Intent and Spiritual Energy (Matthew 5:27–30):** How Jesus identifies sin at the internal root before it ever becomes a physical act. * **The Living Word as a Discerner (Hebrews 4:12–13):** Why continuous time in Scripture is essential to expose and align the hidden thoughts and intents of our hearts. * **Mastery and Discipline over the Flesh (1 Corinthians 9:24–27 & Romans 1:28):** Subduing the body through God's discipline to ensure we are not disqualified (a reprobate mind). * **Ruthless Moral Self-Denial vs. Literal Harm:** Understanding Christ's figures of speech concerning plucking out the eye or cutting off the hand—establishing radical guardrails in daily living. * **Contentment in God's Fullness (2 Corinthians 6:3–10, Philippians 4:11–13, Matthew 6:33–34):** Recognizing that lust often stems from a false sense of lack, and finding true sufficiency by seeking first the Kingdom of God. Take time to examine where your attention, energy, and intentions are directed today, and learn how to crucify the flesh through the power of the Holy Spirit.
