    Fia Sylvan writes under a pen name for a reason: protection, both for her and for the people whose lives are woven into her story. Fia is Latin, rooted in Sophia, meaning wisdom. Sylvan means of the woods. She chose both words on purpose. Fia is a new author, a healthcare professional, an animal rescuer, and a gardener who grows food alongside urban habitat on her small city lot.
