    Marriage, Money & Break-ups 🔥 Tara Pavlovic

This week Light It Up looks a bit different. Lara is joined in person by Tara Pavlovic, and instead of a standard interview, they open the floor to the audience. Anonymous questions, sent in by listeners, answered without the usual polish. Heads up, this episode contains strong language and frank discussion of separation, marriage breakdown, mental health, and sex. The first one goes straight for the throat. How do you survive financially as a single mum, and what is your annual wage? Tara answers it properly, which almost nobody does. She talks about growing up with nothing, leaving home at seventeen, and why she has never once felt able to stop working. She names the number. She names the rent. She talks about legal fees, therapy costs, and the fact that ten Medicare-subsidised psychology sessions a year does not go far when you are in the middle of a crisis. Question two comes from a woman who has been married seventeen years and still thinks about an ex from twenty-five years ago. Lara and Tara unpack why our brains run a highlight reel of the good times and quietly delete the rest, whether this is a nervous system safety mechanism, and what it might actually be pointing to in the current relationship. That leads into the conversation the episode is really about. Marriages get boring. Desire needs distance, and when you have kids climbing on you at the breakfast table there is no distance to be found. Lara and Tara talk about the seven year itch, why monthly date nights are easier to recommend than to execute, and why pretending none of this happens is doing everyone a disservice. Question three comes from someone consciously uncoupling and living in the same house, wondering how long they are meant to do this for. The advice is practical. Start looking for your own space while things are still good, keep talking, and ask the harder question underneath it, which is if you are such a good team, why are you splitting up at all. Honest, funny, occasionally filthy, and exactly the conversation most of us are only having in our group chats. Part two coming soon Follow Lara here Follow Tara here  Write a message…

Only Fans Will Make Us Better Parents 🔥 Lauren & Jaymes Wright

Lauren met Jaymes on Instagram, flew to Australia, and married him six weeks later. Two weeks into their relationship they started her OnlyFans. Seven years and one baby on the way later, they explain why none of it is what you think. Lauren and Jaymes Wright have broken pretty much every rule you have ever been given about dating, marriage and money. They got engaged on a mushroom trip near a waterfall. They ran into their celebrant the same morning they decided to get married. Lauren made 15,000 US dollars in her first two weeks online. And now, 24 weeks pregnant with their first daughter, Lauren says this career is going to make her a better mum. In this episode Lara asks the questions everyone is thinking and nobody says out loud. Here is what they get into: How a comment about the Amazon fires turned into a marriage proposalWhy they say the six week wedding was not a visa arrangement, and what it actually wasThe moment Jaymes decided she was the oneWhy Jaymes is not jealous, and what he says to the men who ask how he allows itHow Lauren went from teaching adult gymnastics in the UK to earning more in two weeks than she used to earn in three monthsThe uncomfortable truth Lauren learned about the men who were already saving her photos, years before she ever posted anything explicitWhere the boundaries sit when subscribers want companionship instead of contentWhat actually changes when you get pregnant and your body is your businessWhy Lauren does not care what anyone thinks about a mum doing this workThe one rule they will never break when it comes to their daughter and the internetWhat Lauren would say if her daughter came to her one day and said she wanted to do the same jobThis one is honest, funny and a lot more thoughtful than the headline suggests. Breaking Up With "The Cool Girl" 🔥 Meghan Mctavish

Meghan McTavish joins Dr Lara Goode and opens up about "cool girl" conditioning, divorce, solo travel and why having it all was never the win we were told it was. Meghan McTavish spent years being whoever the person in front of her needed her to be. The cool girl who drank on a weekday. The Zen yogi. The woman on the dating app with a bikini photo and no opinions. In the first episode of Light It Up, Dr Lara Goode sits down with Meghan, the writer, creator of the Plotline journal and self described divorce-fluencer, to talk about what it actually costs to be that agreeable, and what happens when you stop. They get into the campaign Meghan ran on dating apps after her marriage ended, and why she felt uglier the more men liked her. The villain narrative that follows women as they get older. Why she has been celibate for two years and is happier for it. And the trick she and her ex used while still living under the same roof, taking turns being the 1950s husband, which turned out to be the thing that showed her she could do it alone. Lara brings her own side of it. A recent ADHD diagnosis at 35 and the anger that came with realising how many choices were made while masking. A marriage that hit rock bottom and came back as marriage 2.0. And the burnout that landed her in a body that stopped cooperating.
