    Another Miscarriage

This is a very personal episode because I’m talking about my miscarriage while I’m still in it... I'm still grieving, still healing (physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually), and still trying to understand what life looks like after losing another baby. I don't have healing tips like I normally do. I don't have answers. I'm sharing what I'm going through and what I've learned from my last miscarriage to this one. But I'm still deeply wounded, and I haven't nearly made sense of why this has happened again. I had to pause recording numerous times, to get it together and to speak coherently through my tears. This is raw and vulnerable. I hope my sharing helps another woman through this awful experience. I talk about both of my miscarriages: the first one I kept almost entirely to myself, and the one I’m experiencing now. The first time, I suffered in silence. I couldn't cope while alone, so I drank to numb the grief, stopped taking care of myself, and tried to keep functioning as though nothing had happened. It was one of the darkest periods of my life. This time, I’m asking for help because I know what it's like to go through this alone. I’m letting my family and friends love me through it. I joined a pregnancy-loss support group. I planted a California poppy for my little So So. And by talking openly about my miscarriage, I've learned just how many women I’ve known for years were quietly carrying this same loss. Me too. This episode is about miscarriage, grief, the babies we didn’t get to keep, and what can happen when we stop believing we have to carry unbearable things alone. And if grief, loss, or life in general has left you feeling like you're simply surviving right now, you can take my free Four Seasons of Survival Mode quiz to discover the season you're in and receive some gentle support for where you are right now. Most importantly, if you’ve lost a baby, your grief matters. Your baby matters. And you don’t have to carry it alone.

    It's Not About the Food

For a long time, I believed food was the problem. I feared certain foods, chased the "perfect" diet, and spent far too much energy trying to control what I ate. But the truth is, my relationship with food was never really about food. It was about living in a body that didn't feel safe. My nervous system was dysregulated, I was stuck in survival mode, and food became another place where that struggle showed up. In this episode, I share my personal journey with food, body image, and healing through the lens of Ayurveda. We explore how stress, trauma, and a dysregulated nervous system can shape the way we eat, and why true healing begins by creating safety within ourselves, not by chasing another diet. If this episode resonates with you and you're wondering where to begin, I'd love to invite you to take my free Discover Your Season Quiz. In just a few minutes, you'll discover which season your body is living in right now and receive personalized guidance to help you understand what your body has been asking for. Take the free quiz here: 🍃Discover Your Season My hope is that this conversation helps you replace guilt with compassion, fear with curiosity, and control with trust. You deserve a relationship with food that feels nourishing instead of exhausting. Whether you've struggled with emotional eating, restriction, constant food thoughts, or simply feel disconnected from your body's wisdom, I hope this episode reminds you that healing is possible. You are not broken. You are breaking open. Until next time, Natalie Maddy A special thank you to my best friend Karen Edmonds for creating the beautiful intro music for this podcast.https://www.youtube.com/@the_karenmarie
