8 | How & Why We Pray: The Lord’s Prayer Explained (Matthew 6:9–13)

In this episode, we’re studying Matthew 6:9–13 verse by verse and breaking down the Lord’s Prayer to understand what Jesus was teaching us about prayer, our relationship with God, and how to approach Him with confidence. We’ll explore what it means to pray “Our Father in heaven,” ask for God’s kingdom to come, surrender our plans to His will, depend on Him for our daily needs, seek forgiveness, and ask for protection from temptation and evil. We’ll also explore the Old Testament connections to the Lord’s Prayer through Ezekiel 36:22–28 (God’s name and His kingdom), Exodus 16:4–21 (depending on God for daily bread), Psalm 103:8–12 (God’s forgiveness and mercy), Luke 22:39–46 (Jesus surrendering to the Father’s will), and Daniel 7:13–14 (Jesus’ eternal kingdom). These passages help us understand how the Bible connects to Jesus’ teaching on prayer and how we can grow in surrender, dependence, and trust in God. And we’re getting personal. Why is it so hard to pray sometimes? What do we do when our minds wander, our prayers become focused on our own desires, or we struggle to feel grateful during difficult seasons? We’ll talk honestly about the challenges of building a prayer life, how to stop treating prayer like a religious performance, and how to turn prayer into a genuine conversation with Jesus. Plus, we’ll walk through four practical steps to help you begin praying, bring your requests to God, close your prayers, and put your faith into action. 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 7 | Faith Outside Your Living Room (Matthew 28:19-20 Bible Study)

In this episode of She Sips & Sows, we’re studying Matthew 28:19–20 verse by verse and exploring the Great Commission, what it means to make disciples, and why sharing the gospel isn’t just for pastors, missionaries, or people with a platform. We’ll look at the meaning of “go,” Jesus’ command to make disciples of all nations, and His promise to be with us always. We’ll also look at John 4, Luke 22, and Romans 1:16 to see how the Samaritan woman, Peter, and Paul show us what it looks like to share our faith, overcome fear, and boldly make Jesus known. And we’re getting personal. What does it look like to live out the Great Commission as a young Christian woman in your everyday life? How do you share your faith when you’re nervous or don’t have all the answers? And how can you turn small talk into God talk, disciple the people already around you, and let your life make others curious about Jesus? 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 5 | Leave the Old Behind & Step Into New Life (Romans 6:4)

In this episode of She Sips & Sows, we’re studying Romans 6:4 verse by verse and exploring the meaning of “newness of life,” the significance of baptism, our union with Christ, freedom from sin, and what the resurrection of Jesus means for the life of a Christian. We’ll also look at Romans 6:6, 1 Corinthians 15:17, and Ezekiel 36:25–27 to see how Scripture connects cleansing, transformation, a new heart, and a new way of living. And we’re getting personal. What does it look like when Jesus actually changes you? How do you recognize the difference between your old life and your new identity in Christ? And how do you continue walking with Jesus while He is still transforming you? 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 4 | Redefining Love Through Jesus After Toxic Relationships (John 3:16)

In this episode, we’re diving into John 3:16: “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His one and only Son…” But what does God’s love actually look like, and what happens when the way we’ve learned to understand love is completely different from what Scripture teaches? We’ll investigate the Greek word agapaō, meaning to love through choosing, giving, and seeking the good of another. Because biblical love isn’t simply a feeling, intense chemistry, being wanted, or accepting everything someone does. God’s love is consistent, sacrificial, truthful, and rooted in His character. We’ll connect John 3:16 to Hosea 11:1–4, Romans 5:8, and 1 John 4:8, and look at how Jesus shows us what God’s love looks like in action. We’ll also talk about the ways we can confuse intensity with intimacy, being wanted with being valued, and acceptance with love. If you’ve ever been in a toxic relationship, struggled to recognize healthy love, ignored red flags because you wanted to be chosen, or wondered what biblical love actually looks like, grab your Bible and sip Scripture with me. Because before we can learn how to love others well, we have to let Jesus redefine what love is. 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 3 | How to Deal With Sin, Shame & Guilt (Romans 3:23 Bible Study)

In this episode, we’re diving into Romans 3:23: “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” But what does it actually mean to sin, and what do we do when we know we’ve fallen short? We’ll investigate the Greek words hystereō, meaning to come up short or lack what’s needed, and hamartia, meaning to “miss the mark.” Because sin isn’t simply a list of rules we’ve broken. There’s something deeper happening when we miss the mark of knowing Jesus, reflecting Him, and living in relationship with God. We’ll connect Romans 3:23 to Isaiah 53:6 and 1 John 1:8, and explore what it looks like to recognize your sin without letting guilt and shame define you. If you’ve ever wondered how to stop sinning, heal from sin, move forward after making a mistake, or forgive yourself, grab your Bible and sip Scripture with me. Because before we can understand the good news, we have to understand the problem. 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 2 | God Is the Creator, So Why Am I Trying to Control Everything?

In this episode of She Sips & Sows, we’re going back to the very first verse of the Bible: Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” If God is the Creator and we are the creation, what does that actually mean for the way we live, make decisions, handle uncertainty, and trust God with our future? We’ll dig into the Hebrew word bara, explore what it means that God is the Creator, and connect Genesis 1:1 to Isaiah 40:26, John 1, and Colossians 1 to see what Scripture reveals about Jesus as Creator. Then we’ll bring it into real life: control, anxiety, comparison, identity, and the temptation to rewrite the story God is writing. Because sometimes our desire for control is really fear in disguise. You can only see the page you’re currently on. But the Author sees the whole story. 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word? 1 | So You Said YES to Jesus... Now What?!

In this first episode, we’re going back to the moment Jesus said, “Follow me.” We’re diving into Matthew 4:19–20 and exploring what it actually means to follow Jesus, what we have to leave behind, and how He can take the skills, experiences, and even the mess of our past and use them for His Kingdom. We’ll look at the Greek word akoloutheo, which means more than simply walking behind someone. It’s about accompanying Jesus, aligning our lives with Him, and ordering our steps after His. We’ll also connect this moment to Abraham following God into the unknown in Genesis 12 and the Israelites following God’s direction through the wilderness in Exodus 13. Because following Jesus doesn’t mean knowing exactly where you’re going. It means trusting the One who does. And the best part? Jesus doesn’t ask you to become a finished, perfect version of yourself before you follow Him. He says, “I will make you.” 🌱 Want to grow deeper in God’s Word?
