EP 4 | Can Fallen People Really Be Restored? What True Repentance Actually Looks Like

Follow along with our study with this FREE PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wUlycrPfYF8jdSbh4i8GwZNtQBLLHqE1/view?usp=drive_link What happens when someone fails badly? Do we punish them, expose them, distance ourselves from them, or create a path toward repentance and restoration? In this episode of Loving On Purpose Presents: Culture of Honor, we work through “Dearly Loved Children of Light” and talk about what it means to call people back to who they really are, even in some of the worst moments of their lives. We unpack the difference between conviction and shame, why repentance is much bigger than simply stopping bad behavior, and how repentance protects connection with God and with one another. We also talk about David and Saul, the danger of living offended, why punishment rarely produces lasting transformation, and a powerful story of a worship leader whose failure became an opportunity for healing, accountability, reconciliation, and genuine restoration. We also make an important distinction between sin that should be handled within covenant relationships and criminal behavior that must be reported to the proper authorities. A culture of honor never means hiding abuse or pretending destructive behavior did not happen. The goal is truth, responsibility, healing, and restoration wherever restoration is possible. As you listen, I want you to consider where offense may be keeping you from love, and whether there is a relationship where you can be the first person to move toward connection again. The challenges began almost immediately. They both came from broken families. And they didn’t realize it until 12 years into marriage, but they were considered clinically incompatible. Suffice it to say – they had their fair share of obstacles to overcome. But instead of letting that define them, they turned their struggle into a story they’ve been sharing for over 20 years. Their struggle is your victory. They founded Loving On Purpose to teach you what they’ve learned – how to find hope, connection, and become a powerful person. EP 3 | Why Christian Leaders Must Stop Governing Through Fear & Control

Follow along with our study with this FREE PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-7J-mPQXGZH4M9ofJnT7-rnOv7v6BtZW/view?usp=drive_link What happens when someone fails, sins, hurts us, or makes a mess? Our response in that moment reveals a lot about the culture we’re creating. In this episode of Loving on Purpose Presents: A Walk Through Culture of Honor, we dive into Chapter 3, “Governing From Heaven,” and unpack one of the central ideas behind a culture of honor: love motivates, while fear tries to control. We talk about why fear of other people’s mistakes can push us toward punishment, self-preservation, disconnection, and control, and why Jesus consistently demonstrated another way. From Peter denying Jesus to the prodigal son, the woman caught in adultery, parenting, marriage, and leadership, we look at what happens when connection remains the goal even when something goes wrong. Governing from heaven means learning to lead from love, trust, freedom, repentance, reconciliation, and our identity as sons and daughters rather than living as though we’re constantly standing before a judge. We also get practical about examining our own reactions. When someone disappoints you, what do you reach for first? Do you protect connection or punish through disconnection? Do you create safety for honesty, or does your response teach people to hide? Whether you’re leading a family, church, business, team, or relationship, you are creating a culture. The question is whether you’re creating it accidentally or on purpose. If you have any questions about this episode, please email us at questions@lovingonpurpose.com.  Chapters:  00:00 - Governing From Heaven: Love Motivates, Fear Controls 02:50 - Moving From Control to a Culture of Love 05:39 - Why Leaders Must Remember Their Own Need for Grace 08:29 - Creating Safety Instead of Punishment 11:18 - How Jesus Responds to Failure and Sin 14:08 - Encountering the Father Through Radical Love 16:57 - Choosing Connection When Someone Makes a Mistake 19:47 - Why Love Requires Risk and Vulnerability 22:36 - Sonship, Identity, and the Living Room Instead of the Courtroom 25:26 - What Culture Are You Creating? -------------------------------------------- How we started: In 1984, Danny and Sheri were married. EP 2 | What Happens When the Fivefold Ministry Gets Out of Order? Apostles, Prophets, & Pastors

Follow along with our study with this FREE PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tNfw28hhyLk-4K3ujj0ijpOJRY6LEdPa/view?usp=sharing In this episode of Loving On Purpose Presents: Culture of Honor, we’re diving into Chapter 2 “The Funnel From Heaven,” and unpacking one of the more provocative ideas in the book: the fivefold ministry. We talk about apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers, why each gift matters, and what can happen when we build church culture around one gift while minimizing or removing the others. We also get into what it actually looks like when heaven becomes the source instead of human control, fear, or self-preservation. I share some of what we experienced through years of ministry around Bethel, how different leaders brought different strengths to the table, and why a healthy culture doesn’t require everyone to see things the same way. Honor means recognizing the way God has designed you while also making room for the perspective and anointing He has placed on someone else. As you listen, I want you to consider two questions: What fivefold gift do you naturally carry, and whose different gift do you need to make more room for? The goal isn’t hierarchy, titles, or figuring out who is most important. It’s the maturing of the body of Christ so that every gift can function together and heaven can flow through the whole body the way God intended. If you have any questions about this episode, please email us at questions@lovingonpurpose.com.  Chapters:  00:00 - Why Chapter 2 May Challenge You 03:36 - The Fivefold Ministry and the Funnel From Heaven 07:11 - When Control Replaces Heaven’s Perspective 10:47 - Apostles, Prophets and the Flow of Anointing 14:23 - How to Stay Connected to What Heaven Is Doing 17:58 - When Fivefold Gifts Become Competing Tribes 21:34 - Honor Means Every Gift Has a Voice 25:10 - How Your Spiritual Anointing Shapes Your Perspective 28:45 - Discovering Your Fivefold Ministry Gift 32:21 - Maturing the Body of Christ -------------------------------------------- How we started: In 1984, Danny and Sheri were married. EP 1 | What's a Culture of Honor? What the Church Gets Wrong About Sin, Shame & Repentance

Follow along with our study with this FREE PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1WN3l... What does it actually mean to create a culture of honor? In this first chapter of our Culture of Honor book study, we’re going back to the foundation of a message that has shaped our families, relationships, leadership, and ministry for decades. We’re talking about what happens when freedom gets messy, why our instinct is often to reach for control, and why honoring people cannot depend on whether they agree with us, behave correctly, or remind us of ourselves. We also unpack the story of Josh and Robin and the difference between confession and true repentance. When someone makes a serious mistake, simply identifying what they did doesn’t necessarily reveal the real problem. We have to go deeper. What was happening inside of them that produced the behavior? That process moves us away from shame, punishment, and control and toward responsibility, reconciliation, healing, and genuine freedom. Kingdom justice isn’t simply making sure people get what they deserve. We believe the goal is restoration. As you listen, I want you to think about the environments you help create in your home, marriage, church, workplace, or community. How safe is it for someone to fail there? And what could you do this week to move that environment one step toward greater freedom? Culture of Honor only works when love stays on, especially when someone makes a mess. Join us chapter by chapter as we work through the book, ask hard questions, and learn how to build cultures where people can grow, repent, heal, and become who God created them to be.
