    What you’re carrying. Not the burdens — the equipment. The reading plan, the prayer method, the devotional you started in January, the permanent sense that there’s a discipline you’re behind on. Jesus sends out seventy-two people, and the first thing he does is take things away from them. The chapter is called The Operator’s Toolkit, and the loadout is almost entirely subtraction.

    He Said It Once and Never Changed It

    He stood up in his hometown synagogue, opened the scroll of Isaiah, and told everyone exactly why he had come. Good news to the poor. Release to the captives. Sight to the blind. Freedom for the oppressed. This is week two of a ten-part series preaching every chapter of Kingdom Operators. Jesus states his mission publicly in Luke 4, but there is a detail easy to miss: he stops reading before Isaiah gets to "the day of vengeance of our God." He announces release, then rolls up the scroll. And the Greek word translated "release" is aphesis, the Jubilee word for cancelled debts and liberated captives, and the same word the New Testament uses for forgiveness. Jesus knew the mission, operated under the Father’s authority, and never rewrote the assignment when opposition came. The question for us is not whether we can invent a mission of our own, but whether we will join the one he already announced.     He Recruited You Before You Were Ready

    They weren't praying. They weren't searching. Four men were mending nets on an ordinary morning when a stranger walked down the shoreline and interrupted them. This is week one of a ten-part series preaching every chapter of Kingdom Operators. We start where Jesus started — with recruitment, and with a promise in the Greek that most English translations flatten: not "I will make you fishers of men," but I will cause you to become. The becoming is his work, not theirs. They didn't qualify and then get commissioned. In a world obsessed with visibility, influence, and quick results, we can easily forget that Jesus never simply deployed people — He formed them. He shaped hearts before assignments. He cultivated depth before impact. He built people who could carry the mission without being consumed by ego, distraction, fear, or performance. This episode explores the essential tools that shape a Kingdom Operator from the inside out:  Prayer  Scripture  Love  Humility  Courage  Discernment  Obedience  Presence Not as religious checklists. Not as spiritual accessories. But as the deep inner practices through which Christ forms us for compassion, reconciliation, and restoration in the world. This conversation is both pastoral and practical — a reminder that private formation shapes public faithfulness. The Kingdom is not advanced merely by charisma, intensity, gifting, or good intentions. It is advanced through people who are being steadily transformed into the likeness of Christ. One of the central ideas in this episode is this: “God is not merely looking for inspired people. He is looking for formed people.”That line alone may preach for a week.     E5 The Mission of Jesus — Compassion, Reconciliation, and Restoration

    What exactly is the mission of Jesus? If we're going to talk about Kingdom Operators, about being sent, about mission-ready faith, then we have to be crystal clear about the mission itself. In this episode, Pastor Charles names it in three words: Compassion. Reconciliation. Restoration. Compassion is love that moves toward pain. Jesus did not circle brokenness from a safe distance — he moved toward it. Toward the leper, the grieving, the outcast, the spiritually hungry, the socially rejected. And he calls Operators to move the same way. Reconciliation heals what division has fractured. Jesus crosses the lines that human systems build to protect ego and preserve distance — and invites us into the ministry of healing what's been torn apart in families, churches, friendships, and communities. Restoration brings life back to what has been diminished, damaged, or distorted. The kingdom is not a museum of old ideas. It is the living movement of God bringing renewal into ruined places — and Operators are called to participate in that renewing work.
