    Halloween Special Edition

Hello, and welcome to this special, and slightly creepy Halloween edition of the podcast! Sit tight, turn down the lights, and get ready to learn some spooky Romanian words and phrases! Before we begin, a few key words in Romanian for Halloween: Câteva cuvinte cheie specifice de Halloween în română. Halloween -Halloween; Costumes- costume; candy – bomboane; sweets – dulciuri; vampire – vampir; ghost - fantomă; pumpkin - dovleac; bats - lilieci; superheroes - supereroi; Trick or treat- Ne dați ori nu ne dați?; In Romania Halloween takes place on the 31 October. În România, Halloween-ul are loc pe 31 octombrie. Usually, children celebrate it through funny or scary costumes. Some children dress as a vampire, some as a ghost or some...as superheroes. Another way Halloween is celebrated is through the carving of the pumpkins. Some pumpkins are sad.. some are happy.. but they surely are scary! Children go from door to door to ask the trick or treat question. The houses and neighbourhoods are decorated with scary stuff. Suddenly there is a dead body in somebody’s garden! Or carved pumpkins and bats flying around. And that’s pretty much Halloween: the children leave happy with their pockets full of candy, while the parents are left with the dentist bills.
