*Yirmiyahu 50* Learn the perek (with translation and classic commentaries): https://mg.alhatorah.org/Full/Yirmeyahu/50.1#e1n6 *Perek Points* Yirmiyahu prophesies in the name of Hashem about the future destruction that will befall Babylonia and the Chaldeans. He says that their land will become a wasteland without any inhabitants, human or animal. He says that His people are like tzon ovdos, lost sheep, that were led astray by their shepherds and they were devoured by enemies who said they bore no guilt because they had sinned against Hashem, but now He instructs them to leave Babylonia like male goats in front of the flock for He will be bringing an assembly of great nations from the north to overtake Babylonia. He says that the Chaldeans will be plundered because they trampled His people and that their mothers are ashamed for having borne them. He tells them to get ready for battle for they're about to face the vengeance of Hashem. He says that the Bnei Yisrael is like a seh fezurah, a dispersed sheep, that the lions of Assyria and Babylonia dispersed so Hashem will punish those kings and will return them to their land. He says at that time the sins of the Jewish people will not be found. He asks how it could be that the “hammer of the world” Babylonia will be snapped and broken. He says that Babylonia will be despoiled and that the nations should mobilize against it. He says the wicked nation will stumble and fall and He will set fire to its cities. He says the children of Israel and the children of Judah were oppressed together and that their captors should hold them tight and not let them go because Hashem their mighty Redeemer will come save them. He promises that a sword will come against the Chaldeans and the Babylonians, against their officers, wise men, sorcerers, mighty men, horses and chariots, foreigners, and treasuries. He says their waters will evaporate because of their idolatry and animals will dwell in their land. He says that they're going to be overturned like Sodom and Amorah and will be defeated by a cruel nation from the north that will show no mercy and will ascend upon them like a lion. He asks who is like Him and who can challenge Him and assures them that the earth quakes from the sound of Babylonia being seized and the outcry is heard among the nations.

    Yirmiyahu 44

*Yirmiyahu 44* Learn the perek (with translation and classic commentaries): https://mg.alhatorah.org/Full/Yirmeyahu/44.1#e1n6 *Perek Points* Yirmiyahu tells the Jews living in Egypt that Hashem said that they have seen all the destruction that was brought upon Yerushalayim due to their idolatrous incense and their refusal to heed the warnings of the prophets that He would frequently send. He then condemns their idolatry and asks if they have forgotten the evils of their forefathers, the Judean kings and their wives, and the evils of themselves and their wives. Accordingly, He says He is turning his attention to them and they will be killed by the sword, famine, and pestilence. He says there will be very few fugitives who will return to Judah from Egypt but everyone else will be killed in Egypt. The men, who the Navi says knew the idolatrous ways of their wives, and their wives respond to Yirmiyahu that they will not listen and will continue to bring incense to the “queen of the heavens” and pour libations to her. They even say that they have suffered from the sword and famine because they stopped bringing the incense. He responds that it's because of the idolatrous incense that their cities were burned. He then tells the people, especially the women, since they have committed to fulfilling their vows to burn incense to the queen of the heavens, Hashem will bring evil upon them and they will be killed in Egypt except for a few fugitives. He says that a sign for this is that he will deliver Paroh Chofra into the hand of his enemies as He did to Tzidkiahu.
