The Slow Archive

Owen Barnes

A history of ordinary things, told slowly. Each episode is an hour of calm, factual narration about something everyday: lighthouses, salt, the postal service, canals, clocks, libraries. How people managed before it, how it came to be, how it worked, what became of it. Short sentences, slow pace, no cliffhangers, no questions. You are not meant to follow along; falling asleep is the idea. Every episode ends in silence, not an ad. Chapter timestamps are in each episode's notes. Written by Owen Barnes and narrated with AI.
