Whisky and Suits - S01E07 -Success Redefined with Andy Reid

🥃 What does success actually look like? It’s a question we don’t ask ourselves often enough. On the latest episode of Whisky & Suits, I sat down with Andy Reid — one of Australia’s top auctioneers, author, podcast host and success coach — for a conversation that went well beyond property. Andy has spent years in real estate, built a reputation as an outstanding auctioneer, written his book Success Curious and now helps people and businesses understand how they can improve. But one of the most interesting things about Andy is how he thinks about success. For him, it’s not about constantly chasing the next milestone. It’s about alignment — who you are, what you do and where you are in life. We covered some fascinating ground, including: 🎯 Why success means something different to everyone   🧠 The difference between chasing satisfaction and staying curious   💬 Why asking “why?” is essential for learning and progress   🚀 How fear and our interpretation of change can hold us back — or move us forward   📈 What Andy has learned from coaching people across different industries   🎙️ The stories and lessons he’s uncovered through his own podcast   💡 Why being present and recognising where you are matters just as much as having big goals One point really stuck with me: we can spend so much time chasing where we want to be that we forget to ask ourselves whether we're on the right path right now. Ambition matters. Goals matter. Getting better matters. But so does knowing what success means to you — rather than simply chasing someone else's version of it. I also loved Andy’s perspective on curiosity. The willingness to ask questions, challenge assumptions and keep learning is what allows us to grow. A great conversation with a sharp mind, plenty of laughs and some powerful lessons that apply just as much to business as they do to life. Thanks for joining us, Andy. 🥃 Watch the latest episode of Whisky & Suits on Ticker. #WhiskyAndSuits #TickerNews #AndyReid #Success #Mindset #Leadership #PersonalGrowth #Business #RealEstate #Curiosity

Whisky and Suits - S01E06 - Getting The Off-Market Edge with Marc Woolfson

🥃 What actually makes a good investment property? That was one of the big questions we unpacked on the latest episode of Whisky & Suits, where I sat down with Marc Woolfson. Marc and I go back a long way, having worked together in property for years. Today, Marc works across buyers advocacy and property development, helping source and structure new-build investment opportunities across South Australia, Victoria and Queensland. And his approach to property really stood out to me. It starts with a simple question: Why are you investing in the first place? Because the right property for someone chasing capital growth may be very different to the right property for an investor focused on rental yield and cash flow. We talked about: 🏠 How to reverse-engineer a property around an investor’s goals 📊 Why data and fundamentals should drive investment decisions 💰 The importance of getting the price point right 📍 Population, infrastructure, employment diversity and owner-occupier demand 🏗️ What to consider when buying land and building a new property 🤝 Why strong relationships across builders, developers, conveyancers and finance matter ⚠️ The risks that can come with long settlement and development timelines 📈 How changing market conditions can create new opportunities 🏘️ And how a new multi-tenant property product is responding to changing rental affordability One of my favourite parts of the conversation was the idea that property is the vehicle — not the destination. The investment needs to fit the investor, their goals, their risk appetite and where they are in their overall wealth journey. And in a changing market, standing still isn't the answer. As Marc put it: “There’s always opportunity. You’ve got to be dynamic.” A great conversation about property, data, development and what it really takes to build an investment strategy around the individual — not just the property. Thanks for joining us, Marc. 🥃 Watch the latest episode of Whisky & Suits on Ticker. #WhiskyAndSuits #TickerNews #Property #PropertyInvestment #RealEstate #Investing #PropertyDevelopment #BuyersAdvocacy #WealthCreation #InvestmentProperty

Whisky and Suits - S01E05 - The Power of 1,000 No’s with Ronan Hanley

🥃 What can 1,000 no’s teach you about building a business? That was one of the big themes of this week’s episode of Whisky & Suits, where co-host Imran Khan and I sat down with Ronan Hanley, Managing Director of Surge Direct. Ronan’s story is a fascinating one. He arrived in Australia as a backpacker and started fundraising on the streets of Brisbane, working on commission and hearing rejection after rejection. Today, he leads one of Australia’s largest direct fundraising businesses, with a team signing up around 1,500 regular donors every week across a range of charities. But what really stood out to me wasn’t just the scale. It was Ronan’s philosophy around people, sales and doing business the right way. We talked about: 💬 Why sales is ultimately about having a genuine conversation 🎯 How to handle rejection and keep going 🤝 Why trust and respect are critical to building long-term relationships ❤️ The difference between selling and inspiring someone to give 👥 How to build and lead large teams across Australia and New Zealand 🤖 How technology and AI are changing the fundraising industry 💻 His ventures into digital fundraising and donor technology 🏢 His journey as a property investor and developer 💡 And why “do what you say, say what you do” is such an important business principle One line from Ronan really stuck with me: “One conversation at a time.” That’s essentially what his business has been built on. A fascinating conversation about sales, rejection, leadership, technology, philanthropy and entrepreneurship — with plenty of laughs and, of course, a good whisky along the way. 🥃 Watch the latest episode of Whisky & Suits on Ticker. #WhiskyAndSuits #TickerNews #RonanHanley #SurgeDirect #Business #Entrepreneurship #Sales #Leadership #Fundraising #Philanthropy #AI #Technology #Property #Investing

Whisky and Suits - S01E04 - AI vs Experience with Tim Graham

🥃 Can AI really change the way we invest in property? That was one of the big questions on this week’s episode of Whisky & Suits. And I was particularly excited to sit down with Tim Graham. Tim and I go back a long way. Before becoming Managing Director of Hotspotting, Tim spent years at Reventon, working his way through the business and developing a real passion for property, data and technology. Today, he’s at the intersection of all three. In our conversation, we unpacked how AI is transforming property research — and where it still has its limits. One example really stood out: Hotspotting’s analysis covers around 17,000 property markets across Australia, and a process that previously took around nine weeks can now be completed in roughly nine minutes using AI. But speed isn't the same as judgement. We also talked about: 🤖 How AI is changing property research and analysis 📊 Using data to identify rising, declining and recovering markets 🏗️ Why infrastructure, population and economic trends matter alongside property data 🏥 How major infrastructure projects can fundamentally change a market ⚠️ The danger of blindly trusting AI-generated answers 🧠 Why human judgement, relationships and experience still matter 💡 And how AI can do the “grunt work” while humans focus on the “gut work” That last point really resonated with me. AI can process enormous amounts of information incredibly quickly. But understanding people, negotiating, reading a market and making decisions when the data doesn't tell the whole story? That's still human. Tim also gave us a fascinating look at some of the AI tools Hotspotting has developed, including their AI assistant “Holly”, which is trained on their own property research and data rather than simply pulling information from the wider web. A fascinating conversation with someone who has gone from hospitality, to property, to technology — and is now helping shape how property research is done. Thanks for joining us, Tim. Whisky and Suits - S01E03 - Guy Naselli talks commercial property benefits

Why Investors Are Looking Beyond Residential Property With residential property facing increasing regulation, rising costs and tighter conditions, more investors are starting to look at commercial property. In this episode of Whisky & Suits, Chris Christofi and Imran Khan sit down with Guy Naselli, Founder and Managing Director of NSL Property Group, to unpack the commercial property market and what investors should be looking for. With more than two decades of experience across construction and real estate, Guy explains why commercial property investing is often driven by numbers, yields and fundamentals rather than emotion. We discuss: 🏢 Why investors are increasingly considering commercial property 📊 Yields, numbers and the fundamentals that matter 🏭 Why industrial warehouses are attracting attention 📍 The importance of location, zoning and flexibility 📑 Freehold title and what investors need to understand 💰 Rental income, outgoings and potential value-add opportunities ⚠️ The risks of inflated rental figures and weak tenant structures 💡 A recent $12 million Broadmeadows transaction and how the deal came together If you're considering commercial property — or simply want to understand why more investors are looking beyond residential — this is a conversation worth watching. 🥃 Whisky & Suits Hosted by Chris Christofi & Imran Khan Produced with Ticker News #WhiskyAndSuits #CommercialProperty #PropertyInvestment #GuyNaselli #NSLPropertyGroup #RealEstate #Investing #ChrisChristofi #ImranKhan
