#18: 2026 World Series Recap — 57 Years in the Making

Necessary Roughness Ep. 18: 2026 World Series Recap — 57 Years in the Making Welcome back to Necessary Roughness—your daily dose of raw sports takes riffing straight off the Twitter feed. Milwaukee is a World Series champion for the first time in franchise history, and they got there with the 19th-ranked payroll, a 103-mph first pitch, and two 22-year-olds rewriting record books that have stood since Ty Cobb and Babe Ruth. In this episode, we go game by game through the Fall Classic. A premature celebration overturned by replay in the ninth. The wildest first inning in 33 years. Seven straight hits with two outs—something no team had ever done in a postseason game. A starter who matched Don Larsen's perfect game on a technicality. And a Game 4 where one team was three outs from the trophy and didn't record a single one of them. We break down the pitching staff that posted numbers nobody has matched since 2000, a reliever who may have had the greatest October in bullpen history, the three-man MVP debate and the defensive play that settled it, the losing side's 54-year-worst offensive showing, and the playoff-share math that explains why the clinching game paid the winners nothing. #17: NFL Week 7 Recap

Necessary Roughness Ep. 17: NFL Week 7 Full Recap Welcome back to Necessary Roughness—your daily dose of raw sports takes riffing straight off the Twitter feed. In this episode, we run through every game from NFL Week 7. A two-time MVP posts the worst offensive game of his 153-start career. A team throws for 64 yards and scores 43, with one quarter containing five different kinds of touchdown. A 13-0 halftime lead turns into a 22-point loss—something that's happened three times since 1941. And a double-digit home favorite loses outright in overtime to a team on its third quarterback. We break down the second-half collapses, the four games decided in the final minute or OT, the kicking carnage, and the undefeated team that ranks 28th in scoring. Plus a five-game losing streak that has a coach's job in question, the trade that just shipped an eight-time Pro Bowler for Day 3 picks, pregame lines on all 14 games, and who covered. No scripts. #16: Sixers 2-0: The Record Books Didn't Survive the Week

Necessary Roughness Ep. 16: Sixers 2-0 - The Record Books Didn't Survive the Week Welcome back to Necessary Roughness—your daily dose of raw sports takes riffing straight off the Twitter feed. Two games into the season, Philadelphia has beaten both of last year's Eastern Conference Finals teams—and the second one shouldn't have been possible. In this episode, we get into the 29-point comeback that ended three separate perfect records in one night, the quarter-by-quarter math behind how they actually did it, and the shooting split that makes it even stranger. We break down the opening-night win over the champs in front of the biggest audience the league has ever had, the two-man game that's creating four-on-threes with Hall of Famers standing around, and the defensive numbers nobody's talking about that explain the whole thing. Plus the quotes, the boos turning into cheers, and a 50-year coincidence you have to hear. No scripts. No filter. Just your sports takes for the day. Follow the show for daily episodes.

#15: LCS Recaps + 2026 World Series Preview

Necessary Roughness Ep. 15: LCS Recaps + 2026 World Series Preview Welcome back to Necessary Roughness—your daily dose of raw sports takes riffing straight off the Twitter feed. In this episode, we recap both League Championship Series and preview the Fall Classic. A revenge sweep with a stat line so identical it has to be seen to be believed, a defending champion that led in all four games and got swept anyway, and a comeback from a 2-1 hole on three straight days of baseball. We break down the two LCS MVPs whose careers mirror each other almost exactly, a starter putting up numbers nobody’s matched since 1968, and a journeyman who was once traded for cash. Then we get into the World Series—the pitching mismatches, the head-to-head history, the late-inning streak that could decide the whole thing, the odds and where the value sits, and my prediction for how it ends. #13: The KAT Contract Standoff

Necessary Roughness Ep. 13: The KAT Contract Standoff Welcome back to Necessary Roughness—your daily dose of raw sports takes riffing straight off the Twitter feed. The Knicks just won a championship and four months later they've stopped negotiating with their starting center. In this episode, we break down the Karl-Anthony Towns contract situation from top to bottom—what's actually been offered, what the market says he's worth, and why the gap has almost nothing to do with how the team values him as a player. We get into the NBA's second apron and what the CBA really takes away from a team that crosses it, the Knicks' cap sheet and the year the math finally breaks and the ownership angle nobody wants to say out loud. Plus the playoff numbers that make the case for him, the ones that don't, where the title odds sit now, and how this actually ends. No scripts. No filter. Just your sports takes for the day.
