George Michael and the Faucet to the Dome

Welcome to the second episode of 86 Service, officially titled "George Michael and the Faucet to the Dome". Nobody pulled a fire alarm this time around, but the hospitality trenches remain just as unpredictable with explosive plumbing and completely baffling menu modifications.   Episode Highlights:  The George Michael Incident: Meggles brilliantly shares a legendary story of wasting company resources. A boss was successfully bribed with a massive "GDMF" double-bacon cheeseburger to allow a coworker to print 500 color pictures of George Michael on company time and tape them all over a car.    The "No Salad" Salad: Steven navigates one of the most confusing tickets imaginable: a salad specifically requesting no lettuce, no tomato, and no basil. The guest simply wanted cheese and bacon, accompanied by a container of mayonnaise and a bottle of mustard to "make something work".    Faucet to the Dome: Adam takes metal to the face when a sink faucet violently shoots upwards, instantly soaking a clean uniform right before table service. The crew also recalls a mid-shift sewer overflow that resembled a gross, backwards Super Mario level.    Training and Prelude to the Great MF Adam: We introduce the legend of MF Adam. While MF Adam MF Adam’d, a dedicated confident new trainee gets a firsthand look at the passion with our Adam and chaos required to serve guests with a smile. (Note: Our cohost Adam and MF Adam are not the same. #mfadam316) Navigating the restaurant industry requires more than just surviving the daily silly chaos; true accountability and coaching keep a cohesive unit together across all stations. When front-of-house and back-of-house communication bridges the gap to support a coworker having a mental breakdown over ungrateful tables, an entire shift can transform from disastrous to inspiring. These moments prove that a positive attitude and genuine teamwork are the ultimate keys to hospitality success.   Join the Conversation! She Did What With The Fire Alarm?

This episode is dedicated to Jeremy Clarke. RIP  🇺🇸 🥩 🍔 🐄 🍃 💨 🫡  Welcome to the chaotic premiere episode of 86 Service! We are diving straight into the deep end of the restaurant industry with our guest star, Sean. As a front-of-house bartender with a great personality and endless patience for the madness, Sean brings the ultimate FOH perspective to the table… proving that if you just listen to people for ten minutes at the bar, you will meet some truly interesting characters.   In This Episode:  The Fire Alarm Fiasco: We break down a legendary meltdown where a screaming match over a burger temperature escalates out of control. After a hot-headed server gets cut and loses her open tables, she exacts her revenge by pulling the fire alarm, leaving the crew to take orders with sirens blaring for an hour and a half.    Wild Guests & Bar Fixtures: Sean recounts the unpredictable nature of closing the bar, from a "millionaire" oversharing about his personal life to a creep harassing a coworker about pigtails for three hours, and the absolute primal rage people experience when they are hungry.    Behind Closed (Bathroom) Doors: We recount a jaw-dropping "manager fail" involving a locked employee bathroom, a glass pipe, and a literal bite mark.    Good Bosses vs. Bad Bosses: The crew contrasts the ultimately poor leaders who do nothing with the real leaders who earn respect by getting down in the trenches and working through the rushes alongside their team. #respect  Back-of-House Hazards: We share the literal dirty work, including a grease trap disaster that led to some incredibly unfortunate plumbing and wardrobe malfunctions right in the middle of a shift.   Believe it or not, there are even more wild stories packed into this hour, proving that truth is always stranger than fiction when you work in hospitality.
