Israel's history in the bible gives the background for her prophets' message. By drilling down into her prophets in chronological order we can discover their Messianic hope. I'm Rod MacArthur. I'll be your narrator and commentator. I've studied these prophets for over sixty years. In this podcast I'll share observations I've gained during that time.

  1. Episode 1

Setting the Stage: From Promise to captivity

We'll trace Israel's history that led to her birth as a nation, her rise to prominence, and her fall into captivity. By doing this we can understand  the purpose and work of her prophets.

  2. Episode 2

    Israel's Blessings and Curses

In Deut. 28, Moses laid out two clear choices for Israel. If they kept covenant with Yahweh He would bless them and sustain them on the Promised Land. But, if they refused to keep the covenant, the curses of Yahweh would overtake them and drive them from the land. All the future work of Israel's Prophets hinged on how they kept covenant with Yahweh.

  3. Episode 3

Yahweh's Desire to do Good for Israel

I talk about God’s continuing concern AFTER the curses.Israel’s inability to keep covenant would not keep Yahweh from keeping His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob

  4. Episode 4

Dt. 32 — The Song of Moses

In this episode I analyze the Song of Moses (Dt. 32) as a basis for Israel’s expected ultimate deliverance. The “wicked and perverse generation” deserved to be rejected.
