Ops and Obedience

Eliza Ceci

A podcast for faith-led women who love the Lord, love your business, and want it to feel a lot more peaceful to run. So much of what we've been taught about business runs on urgency, pressure, and hustle. Ops and Obedience is an invitation to build another way: listening for what the Lord places on your heart, saying yes even when it looks different from what everyone around you is doing, and putting the operations in place that help you steward it well. I'm Eliza Ceci, a Director of Operations and advisor to faith-led women in business. Each week, we'll talk about the parts of business that rarely get talked about in Christian spaces: the systems, structure, and day-to-day operations that make a business sustainable and the discernment, trust, and obedience that believers need to run a business to glorify God. Here you'll find: -Practical operations and systems for a life-first business -Honest stories from my own journey (the wilderness seasons included) -Faith-led conversations on stewardship, provision, and contentment -Encouragement to build with intention, at God's pace If you've ever felt disorganized or overwhelmed, or wondered whether there's a more peaceful way to grow, I've made this podcast for you. 4. Your Clients Should Never Have to Guess: Where to Start When Your Business Feels Messy as a Faith-Led Woman

Tell me if this sounds like you. You have a payment link in one app, client notes in another, a booking calendar in a third, and the real plan lives in your head. Every time something slips, you tell yourself you just need to be more disciplined, and today I want to show you that a messy business is a systems conversation, and one of the most fixable things you can do for your business. In this episode, we talk about: - Why a messy business is a signal that your business is growing and needs support with systems - Bringing the Lord into every operations setup, system, and tool before you choose anything - A short inventory exercise to find where you are the bottleneck - The three systems that bring the most peace first: how money comes in, how clients come in, and a home base for you - How to think about tech and AI with discernment, without the overwhelm I put together my favorite tech stacks as a bonus for paid subscribers on Substack: https://elizaceci.substack.com/p/your-tech-stack-simplified-where  Chapters 00:00 When the Real Plan Lives in Your Head 01:50 A Messy Business Is a Signal That You're Growing 06:30 Bring the Lord Into Every System 10:57 Peace in How the Money Comes In 16:03 Peace in How Clients Are Welcomed 22:48 Peace for You: A Home Base 24:52 Discerning Tech and AI 31:06 How to Start Work with me If you've been needing a thinking partner for your operations, I'm opening a small number of advisory spots this fall. 3. What Season Is Your Business In? The 4 Seasons Every Faith-Led Business Moves Through

Two women come to me with the exact same problem. They're both overwhelmed, and they both say, "I don't know where to take my business from here." For one of them, I'll say slow down and lay the foundation first. For the other, it's time to launch the thing she's been praying about for a year. It's the same problem, but they're in different seasons, so the next right step looks completely different for each of them. In this episode, we talk about: - Why the same strategy can help one woman thrive while another struggles, and why that never means there's something wrong with her - The four seasons of business and the fruit the Lord blesses us with in each one - What I've seen in client work in each season, from a coach picking a little strategy here and a little strategy there, to a launch that kept getting scrapped and started over - Why simplifying is about letting go of what's no longer good for you to carry, maybe even in obedience - Four questions to help you name the season you're in right now, not the one you wish you were in "Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Matthew 7:24 (NIV) Chapters 00:00 Same problem, different seasons 02:02 So much more than strategy 03:58 Rebuilding and the fruit of trust 09:23 Launching and the fruit of discernment 15:06 Sustaining and the fruit of faithfulness 18:44 Simplifying and the fruit of contentment 22:08 Four questions to discern your season 22:47 Walking out your season with peace Work with me If you're the one holding every piece of your business right now, you don't have to keep doing it by yourself. 2. 'Fear Entered the Chat': When to Invest (in courses, a coach) and When to Wait as a Faith-Led Woman

I bought an expensive course on launching, and the funny thing is I've built launch strategy for six and seven-figure businesses. I've run multiple launches a year that averaged $50K or more for my clients, and fear still convinced me I needed someone else's plan. In this episode, we talk about: - The red flags I missed, from the friendly DMs to "only three spots left at this price" (and why I bought anyway) - How years of consuming courses in the New Age left me feeling like I still didn't know enough, and how the Lord is still working on that in me - What I realized once the Lord said, "It's enough. It's done. Let's move on." - Why it matters to invest in the right season of your business - Three discernment questions and four ops questions to ask before you invest, so you can make decisions from peace and not from fear or panic Want to hear more of my story? Listen to my very early testimony from 2022. And here's my story of why I coonverted to Catholicism. Scripture mentioned in this episode: "Speak, Lord, your servant is listening." 1 Samuel 3:9 Chapters 00:00 Welcome to Ops and Obedience 00:43 A story about buying yet another course 01:59 Praying before the purchase 04:44 Fear, urgency, and the DMs 10:32 Letting the Lord give me a clean slate 14:34 Three questions for discernment 19:13 Four ops questions before you invest 23:47 Deciding from peace Work with me I'm opening a small number of advisory spots this fall for faith-led women who want a thinking partner for their operations: someone to bring decisions to, help you discern the next right step, and turn it all into a clear action plan every month. 1. I heard the Lord say, Lay Down this Business (and What Came Next)

After Jesus saved me out of the New Age I heard Him say, "Lay this business down." In this first episode of Ops and Obedience, I'm sharing my story: the quarter-life crisis in NYC fashion, the years of people-pleasing and zero boundaries, the three-year wilderness season, and how God redeemed the very work I thought I'd walked away from. We'll also talk about what a redeemed business can look like — trusting the Lord for provision, letting go of urgency-driven marketing, and stewarding the people (and the income) He's already placed in your hands. Plus, why I believe operations is one of the places where faith-led businesses get to look really different. In this episode: 00:40 – Welcome to episode one 01:32 – A quarter-life crisis in NYC fashion 02:55 – "Eliza, what do you want?" 03:32 – From VA to life coach to OBM 04:38 – No boundaries: the people-pleasing years 06:32 – Into the New Age and hustle culture 07:45 – Saved in 2021 09:15 – Laying the business down (and why it's called Ops and Obedience) 10:20 – A three-year wilderness season 12:32 – Where I am now: the class that started it all 14:00 – Saying yes, even reluctantly 15:08 – Portfolio careers and Ecclesiastes 11:2 16:10 – What a redeemed business looks like 17:45 – Tithing and stewarding money 18:58 – Why this podcast 21:25 – Why operations matters for faith-led businesses Scripture mentioned: Ecclesiastes 11:2 · Philippians 4:11–12 · Joel 2:25 Want a thinking partner for your operations?
