Episode 6: The Collector's Outpost on Why Most Lightsabers Are the Same, $10,000 Sabers & Friday the 13th

Welcome back to The Kyber Council, the show where we talk lightsabers, makers, boards, and everything the community doesn't say out loud. This Halloween week we're joined by Larry the Regular Guy and Jon Santos from The Collector's Outpost, the channel that taught a lot of us how to open our sabers without breaking them. Jon gives his honest take on a market full of the same sabers from the same factories, what it really costs a company to bring one to market, and why he says to buy what you can afford and never break the bank. Then we get into the stories. Jon takes us behind his horror location videos, from Crystal Lake and the Friday the 13th camp to the Silence of the Lambs house, and Luke shares what happened when he carried a Master Chassis Obi-Wan through two airport security checkpoints. We also talk about Jon's music background, why collecting is never "just toys," and the debate between screen-accurate and "95% of the way there." We also cover $10,000 sabers, whether retractable sabers will ever hold up, custom helmets, and why Jon sends products back instead of making hate videos. Stick around to catch the moment from the "COMING UP" teaser at the start. 👀 And keep an eye out for a hint about Luke's next review, going live Tuesday.

Episode 5: What All Sabers Told Us Changes Everything, Breaking News & Customer Support Done Right

Welcome back to The Kyber Council, the show where we talk lightsabers, makers, boards, and everything the community doesn't say out loud. This week we're joined by Larry the Regular Guy and the team behind All Sabers, and they break some news right here on the show. Starting Monday, big changes are coming to their Ultimate Works lineup, and with discounts running through the end of the month, next week is the week to grab one. We also get into how the Triad Quest deal came about and what it means for collectors. Then we go behind the curtain on how All Sabers got started, from Nerd Armor to a team of nerds fighting for the customer. We talk warranty claims, replacement parts, and why the relationship should start with the first sale, not end there. Larry shares his own story of spending a small fortune with a company that went silent when something went wrong, and Luke shares how a wrong saber in an unboxing got fixed within days. We also cover custom sabers for creators, saber fonts, upcoming helmets and merch, and a hint of what's coming to Fellowship of the Nerds. When a store gets the experience right, we'll say so. Any store that wants to come on the show and tell its side is always welcome. Stick around to catch the moment from the "COMING UP" teaser at the start. 👀

Episode 4: Praise or Call Out, Theory Sabers Fixed It & Saber Store Accountability

Welcome back to The Kyber Council, the show where we talk lightsabers, makers, boards, and everything the community doesn't say out loud. This week we're joined by Larry the Regular Guy and returning guest Kitty Dad Kenobi from his YouTube channel of the same name. After our Theory Sabers review stirred up plenty of conversation, we lay out the full timeline: the order, a dead battery, the wrong soundfonts, and over a month of back and forth. Then we talk about how Theory Sabers stepped up once it was raised, with a fix in a few hours and just three emails. When a store owns its mistake and follows through, we'll say so. When it doesn't, we'll say that too. We also hear Kitty's own experience with a $1,300 saber that didn't match the lore it was sold on, the custom chassis that fixed it, and what stores can do better on batteries, configs, and customer support. Plus, why a pricey saber can still earn repeat customers when the experience is right, and a look at the Laser Duel set you'll see reviewed soon. No hate here, just accountability. We want the community, the makers, and the stores to grow together, and any store that wants to come on the show and tell its side is welcome. Stick around to catch the moment from the "COMING UP" teaser at the start. 👀

Episode 3: Diversify or Die, Master Chassis & Lessons from Crap Sabers

Welcome back to The Kyber Council, the show where we talk lightsabers, makers, boards, and everything the community doesn't say out loud. This week we're joined by Larry the Regular Guy for a look at what separates a great saber store from one that won't last. We get into why stores that stick to lightsabers need to diversify, and how specializing only works if you deliver on it. We also talk about the stores that give you a real, walk-in experience and the ones that look amazing online but fall short once the saber is in your hands. Then we get into Master Chassis. Are they toys or works of art? We look at Larry's Emperor Palpatine collection, the lore behind Palpatine's lightsaber, and why spending real money on a piece you love beats buying "crap sabers 2.0" and learning the hard way. Sometimes the mistakes teach you the most, and we want to help you skip the expensive ones. We also show off some non-saber pickups, including a metal Thor hammer from Etsy and a Lord of the Rings sword, and tease what's coming up: a Master Chassis trip to a Star Wars location, a Theory Sabers review, and a "beat-proof" blade put to the test. Stick around to the end to catch the moment from the "COMING UP" teaser at the start. 👀

Episode 2: Weathering, Wallets & Worth; Cheap vs Expensive Lightsabers

Welcome back to The Kyber Council, the show where we talk lightsabers, makers, boards, and everything the community doesn't say out loud. This week we brought in a guest: Kitty Dad Kenobi, a fellow YouTuber known for his reviews and weathering work. Together we get into weathering, cheap vs expensive sabers, and whether going the extra mile for a higher-end lightsaber is worth it. Sometimes it is, and sometimes it really depends on what you're aiming to achieve with it.We also swap stories about store experiences and customer support. Some big names look amazing on social media, then leave you hanging the moment you need help, while some of the "feared" AliExpress stores turn out to offer better support than the super flashy brands. And we talk about the companies we do stand behind, the ones that give fans an incredible experience and incredible sabers.Stick around to the end to catch the moment from the "COMING UP" teaser at the start. 👀
