Transforming the Anger Cycle - Episode 4

BUILDING JEWISH MARRIAGES PODCAST  FROM NONPROFIT TOGETHER IN HAPPINESS  WITH SUSAN BARTH  Listen to the Building Jewish Marriages Podcast on:  Spotify |  Apple Podcasts |  YouTube Transforming the Anger Cycle Episode 4 In this episode, we look at one character trait that can have a particularly destructive effect on marriage: anger. What happens when anger hurts the person closest to us? How can we take ownership without becoming defensive? And what does genuine Teshuvah look like within a marriage? This episode explores the importance of listening to the impact of our anger, acknowledging hurt, apologizing, and creating mutually agreed-upon ground rules for handling disagreements. From taking a time-out when anger takes over to protecting our spouse's dignity and emotional safety, these practical tools can help couples move from destructive patterns toward greater respect, connection, and Shalom Bayit. The goal isn't simply fewer angry moments. It's building a stronger us, one commitment at a time. ----------------------------  Building Jewish Marriages is a podcast from nonprofit Together in Happiness, exploring practical tools, timeless Jewish wisdom, and real-life conversations to help build stronger, healthier, and more meaningful Jewish marriages. Building a Better "Us" - Episode 3

BUILDING JEWISH MARRIAGES PODCAST  FROM NONPROFIT TOGETHER IN HAPPINESS  WITH SUSAN BARTH  Listen to the Building Jewish Marriages Podcast on:  Spotify |  Apple Podcasts |  YouTube Building a Better “Us” Episode 3  In this episode of Building Jewish Marriages, we focus on the importance of nurturing the “us” at the heart of a marriage. Rather than focusing only on what each partner needs individually, the conversation asks: What is right with our relationship, and what do we want more of? We share eight character traits and qualities that can help create a more harmonious and connected marriage. The episode ends with a practical challenge: choose one of these eight qualities, give it focused attention for a week, put it on the calendar, and then ask each other, “How was that? Did you feel any different?” The goal is to keep nurturing and strengthening the “us” - not just me and you, but the relationship you are building together. This episode also encourages couples to ask each other: “What would make our marriage better this year?” Small, intentional changes can help couples strengthen their relationship and communicate to their family that they matter and are priorities for one another. ------------------------------------------  Building Jewish Marriages is a podcast from nonprofit Together in Happiness, exploring practical tools, timeless Jewish wisdom, and real-life conversations to help build stronger, healthier, and more meaningful Jewish marriages. 10 Days to a Better Marriage - Episode 2

BUILDING JEWISH MARRIAGES PODCAST  FROM NONPROFIT TOGETHER IN HAPPINESS  WITH SUSAN BARTH  Listen to the Building Jewish Marriages Podcast on:  Spotify |  Apple Podcasts |  YouTube 10 Days to a Better Marriage: The Teshuva Journey for Couples   Episode 2 The ten days of Teshuva between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur are traditionally a time for reflection, repentance, and returning to our better selves. But what if we brought that same process into our marriages? In this episode, we explore 10 character traits – middot - that can weaken a marriage, and the positive qualities that can help replace them: What is important is that this is not a list of your spouse's faults. Teshuva begins with asking, “What do I need to change?” We look at how improving our own character can lead to better behavior, greater shalom bayit, stronger marriages, stronger Jewish families, and ultimately a stronger society. The goal isn't perfection. It's refinement - one trait, one change, one step forward toward becoming a better spouse. Take a moment to reflect: Which of these traits feels most familiar to you? And what is one small change you can make in your marriage today? --------------------------------------------------  Building Jewish Marriages is a podcast from nonprofit Together in Happiness, exploring practical tools, timeless Jewish wisdom, and real-life conversations to help build stronger, healthier, and more meaningful Jewish marriages.
