In August 1966, two Brazilian electronics technicians were found dead on Vintém Hill near Niterói, Brazil. Beside their bodies lay strange instructions, a bottle of water, and a notebook containing cryptic notes. But the most disturbing discovery was that both men wore homemade lead masks covering their eyes. There were no obvious signs of violence, and the exact cause of their deaths was never conclusively established. What had brought these two men to the hill, what were they expecting to witness, and what did the mysterious instructions mean? Decades later, the Lead Masks Case remains one of Brazil’s most baffling unsolved mysteries—a chilling story of unexplained deaths, strange experiments, and questions that may never be answered.
