    Generation Jones - Episode 29

    We have a long one for you this week. All sorts of fun talking about Tech, Music, and Newsworthy topics of the week. In Tech: Kym starts with iRacing. Her local team, Risi Competizione is sponsoring one of the GTD cars in partnership GridNGo_Esports. The 2026 IMSA Esports Global Championship will happen Sept 27. This is the ultimate in racing simulation. https://www.youtube.com/@iRacingOfficial Rob gets into how he’s configured his Home Assistant to help him manage his medication. In Music: It’s the 50th Anniversary for U2 (a true Gen Jones band!). They have a 24x7 streaming channel and all sorts of other things going on including the release of a new single, Silencio from their forthcoming album. Kym goes on and on about her love of her favorite rock band: U2! Rob tells us all about his s-o, Heather’s, recital last week and his narrowing decision on which new electric guitar to buy. Also, this week we add a special touch to the pod. Each week for about the next 10-12 episodes will conclude with one of Rob’s tunes. This is very exciting! In Newsworthy - Rob gave a local update for Poughkeepsie New York on their Flock Camera policy. Good stuff.     We had a mailbag response for the first time. Thanks to listener for their question!!! As promised here is the link to the doc with the details found on possible deep freeze weaponry. In Tech Rob is demanding proof of AI. KelZ talks about the hoopla around Jacob Coxon’s resignation and how that is FAR from new news. She also mentions Hunter Biden’s post about targeted AI impacting elections. Tip: It is happening. In Music Rob talks about Scary Pockets and staying within the funk genre KelZ talks about Funkadelics and specifically their song: Maggot Brain. In most newsworthy Rob and Kym talk about the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 event. KelZ also talks about the Taiji cetacean killfest. For cleansing KelZ gives an update on Tripp part 2. (As a clarification, liking my cloned voice doesn’t mean I like my voice. It means the cloned version sounds great!) Rob gets a shower chair to mitigate pain.     Generation Jones - Episode 26

    We had some technical difficulties this week so you may find the overall volume low and somewhat inconsistent. Sorry about that. In Tech: Rob talked about storage space versus efficiency. KelZ revisited the topic of smart glasses. Of particular interest is META bricking their glasses when it was detected people were covering the recording indicator light. Was that really appropriate? Your thoughts? In Music: Rob talked about Alabama Shakes and especially Brittany Howard. He also talked about singer Cassandra Fowlkes Wilson. RIP Cassandra. Both great. Check ‘em out. KelZ talked about nature’s music miracle: Jurassic Insects. There was a bit of mud slinging at Michael Crichton, too. Sorry, not sorry. In most newsworthy of the week: KelZ lamented the destruction of the Weeping Willow trees at the JFK Performing Arts Center in DC as well as the 60 (so far) cherry trees in Potomac Park. So a little bit of politics crept into the conversation. Again, sorry, not sorry. Rob & KelZ also dove into the Flock camera controversy. For cleaning this week we talked about sitting on the edge of the glorious Hudson River and the mind body app called: TRIPP OSTOTW is Island of Dr. Moreau. Thanks to all y’all. KelZ thought the USA was giving $50 million in relief to Nepal and the UK something like $250m. As of this posting, the USA is giving $500,000 in aid. The UK is giving £5 million.
