What you think you know about climate is probably mistaken . . .   COMING OCTOBER 1: An independent deep dive into climate science Presented by Strategic Insight Group   ACROSS THE THRESHOLD: NATURAL FORCES, HUMAN ENERGY, AND THE 21ST CENTURY With Ray Leonard, independent climate scientist and fellow, Strategic Insight Group Dee Smith, CEO of Strategic Insight Group   24-episodes, bi-monthly   EPISODE 1 BAKED IN: Why +2°C by 2040 and +3°C by 2090 is unavoidable A +2°C increase in global average temperature by 2040 is now baked in, and represents an alarming tipping point toward new levels of extreme weather (heatwaves, drought; hurricanes, tornadoes; sea level rise)—which become even stronger with the a +3°C rise by 2090. Why, how, and what can we expect?

    Across The Threshold: Baked In

NEW PODCAST — ACROSS the THRESHOLD: Natural Forces, Human Energy, and the 21st Century Most of what any of us think we know about the climate debate is seriously misinformed—whatever side of the debate we are on. Across the Threshold is a “deep dive” into climate science and its implications, created by Dee Smith, CEO of Strategic Insight Group, and climate scientist Ray Leonard. Ray, a self-described “oil wildcatter turned climate activist,” is a trained geoscientist who has been an executive in 5 oil companies, and has also developed an independent climate model, giving him a unique perspective. The first episode, “Baked In,” explains 5 interlocked factors that are influencing global temperature changes today. It demonstrates several key points that are contrary to “mainstream” beliefs:  That factors other than CO2 emissions are key to understanding what comes next. That moving to carbon emissions “net zero” is a not a potential solution and may accelerate the temperature rise The debate about whether climate change is natural or human-caused is now irrelevant. Significant temperature rises in the coming decades are now “baked in” and thus unavoidable. Our only way forward is to recognize this and adapt to the predictable near-term changes.   The complexity of this entire set of conditions unfortunately means that it is almost impossible to understand simplistically. The needed detail is what we are endeavoring to provide in the episodes of this new podcast. It will comprise 24 bi-monthly episodes over the next 12 months.  Second Episode (coming October 15): The End of Business as Usual Third Episode (coming November 1): Super El Niños and the unprecedented “Godzilla” El Niño of 2026/2027 Contact: Dee.Smith@sigintelligence.com
