4: Are We Saving Dogs, or Just Moving Them Through the System ; Haters gonna Hate & BE

This week on RescueRollerCoaster, we're tackling an uncomfortable but important question: Are we truly helping the animals if we're not following through on spay and neuter? We discuss rescue accountability, pet overpopulation, and why saving a dog is only part of the responsibility. Then, stick around for two awesome listener stories! Plus, we're teasing what's coming next, including lost-and-found stories and our upcoming multi-part series on Ridglan Beagles, covering the rescue, fostering, and more. Have a rescue story to share? Send your good, bad, and ugly stories to rescuerollercoaster@gmail.com as a written story or voice recording. No real names or recognizable identifying details, please! Hello, Rescue Riders. Rescue Rollercoaster: Spilling the Tea — Rescue Edition

☕️ This week on Rescue Rollercoaster, we're spilling the tea on the messy side of animal rescue. An anonymous email, some serious accusations, and a bigger conversation about how we treat the people working alongside us to save animals. Rescue is hard enough without tearing each other down. We're talking about gossip, reputations, accountability, and remembering why we got into rescue in the first place. No names, no witch hunts—just an honest look at the human side of rescue and why the animals deserve a team, not a competition. 🎢 Buckle up, Rescue Riders. This one's a little spicy. Have a rescue story of your own? Send a voice recording or written story to rescuerollercoaster@gmail.com. Why I Created This Podcast | Reese, Carly, and the Stories That Stay With Us

Why I Created This Podcast | Reese, Carly, and the Stories That Stay With Us Why did I create Rescue Rollercoaster? Because rescue stories deserve to be told — the good, the bad, the heartbreaking, and the ones that stay with us long after the journey ends. In this episode, I share why it matters for those of us who have been on the rescue side to have a place to tell our stories. Rescue isn't always the happy ending people see on Facebook. It's complicated, emotional, exhausting, and sometimes heartbreaking. Behind every dog is a story, and behind every rescue is a human being carrying a piece of it. I'll also share the stories of Reese and Carly, two dogs whose lives became connected in ways that left a lasting mark on our family. Reese was an approximately eight-year-old Doberman mix with a goofy face, a lumpy body, and a personality that made her impossible not to love. Carly was a smaller terrier mix whose story reminds us that the dogs who need us most aren't always the youngest, cutest, or easiest to place. One of the things I'm most proud of is that my husband and kids chose Reese, an older, goofy-looking dog, instead of waiting for a puppy or the next cute thing. They chose her because she deserved a home, and they showed me that compassion doesn't care what a dog looks like or how old they are. This episode is about the stories we carry, the dogs who change us, and the reasons we keep showing up — even when rescue breaks our hearts. And, of course, we're making room for our Rescue Riders! Every one of us has a rescue story worth sharing, whether it's funny, frustrating, unbelievable, or something that still makes you cry. 🎙️ Have a story of your own? Send a written story or a voice recording to rescuerollercoaster@gmail.com. Your story might be featured in a future episode. Because rescue isn't just about saving animals. It's about the people, the moments, and the stories that connect us all. Welcome to the rollercoaster. ❤️

    1: A Dog Named T

Intro, The story of T and how he touched our family, the reason people dont leave rescue. If you have a crazy rescue story of your own, I want to hear it! The good, the bad, the ugly, the heartbreaking, and the stories that sound so completely ridiculous that nobody would believe you unless they’d been there themselves. Send me a voice recording or write your story down and email it to rescuerollercoaster@gmail.com. You can share one story or a whole collection of them. I promise, there is no shortage of craziness in rescue!
