Behind the Scenes Content: Every Job Is Two Posts

For small local service business owners who want their content to build trust, not just go viral. I tried to film a celebration post for my first two sales, and as an introvert, I could not figure out how to celebrate on camera. So I posted me trying to figure it out instead, and it’s done better than most of my recent posts. In this episode, I talk about the biggest shift I’ve seen on social media in 2026: audiences are responding to the messy middle. The slick before-and-after transition still works, but people want to see how the thing actually gets made. With so much AI on our feeds, the in-between is what makes the polished after believable. I walk through a dog groomer example (dematting, deciding between a shave and a brush-out, the bath, the cut, the blowout), then cleaners, organizers, and estheticians. I also cover what to do when your transformation isn’t visual, like a realtor whose client goes from a long commute to walking the kids to school. And I share a simple filming tip: shoot video, because you can pull a photo from a video but not the other way around. Every job has two posts:1. The messy middle: the process, the tools, the decisions, and the questions clients always ask. End it with “go watch part 2.”2. The transformation: the before, a quick bit of the middle, and the after. Your action item this week: On your next job, get your before and after on video, then film the middle from a couple of angles. Not sure what your transformation is? Email info@createwithcoachcynthia.com with your industry, and I’ll help you find it. Your Social Launch Tool: $49 for lifetime access, plus 4 weeks of tutorials and training. Personal Branding for Small Business: Your Logo Isn’t Your Brand

I have a confession. Every so often I go through who I follow, and the accounts with a logo as their profile picture usually get the boot. Not because I don’t like their content. I just have no idea who they are. In this episode: a sewist and pattern designer’s beautiful logo story, why people connect with faces and remember stories, and where your logo actually belongs. We also talk about why people will often pay more when they know they’re supporting a real family with real bills, and the two places to build your personal brand: your Instagram stories and your posts. Plus the little felt mouse that made me cry. Your personal brand, in three pieces: Your face is your profile picture. Close-up, eyes visible, no sunglasses, no AI photos.Your logo lives on your website, landing pages, PDFs and printables.Your stories are what people remember. Share the little things that make you you in your Instagram stories, and the bigger ones in your posts.Your action item this week: Switch your profile picture to a clear, close-up photo of your face. Then share one little thing about you in your stories. Want help with your profile, bio and messaging? Batch Content Creation: 35 Minutes, 10 Posts for a Local Business

For local service business owners, especially seasonal trades, who want more content without filming every single day. My parents came over on the weekend. They pulled into my driveway at 1:23 and pulled out at 1:59. In those 35 minutes, we got footage for 10 pieces of content, and we're still counting. In this episode, I walk you through exactly how we did it. We went in with 2 specific trends we wanted to film, then documented their whole visit from every angle: in the house, outside, even underneath. The first post we shared was just a fun one, with a simple "final push" caption. It brought in new local followers on Facebook and Instagram, plus comments from three past clients. That's three little testimonials from one fun post. I also share why every post between now and spring has one job (getting people on the spring waitlist), and why footage you post now can be reposted when your season starts again. How to batch create with intention:1. Go in with a plan. Know the one or two posts you want before you start.2. Film everything in between. 3. Give every post one job. For the off-season, that's your waitlist.4. Save it for spring. Six months from now, people will have forgotten. Repost what worked. Your action item this week: Before your next job or appointment, write down the one or two posts you want from it. Then film everything in between. How Local Service Businesses Get Booked Without Going Viral

Most local service businesses don't need to go viral. They need the right people in their town to find them and book. My parents' window cleaning business had a video hit 14K views this spring, and it brought in $0. Then we made 3 intentional posts in one week. The result: 18 new local followers across Instagram and Facebook, a stack of free estimate requests, and real jobs booked, 3 of them from the first post alone. In this first episode of One Good Post, I walk you through my 4-step framework for local service marketing. Then I break down the exact post that got them booked, so you can make your own version.
