Antwerp’s Vault: What the Evidence Can Prove

Antwerp’s Vault: What the Evidence Can Prove Welcome to The Unresolved Dossier. Today, we separate the documented Antwerp diamond heist from the details that grew around it. Sensors failed, more than a hundred boxes were reportedly opened, and roadside waste helped identify suspects. Yet the exact haul and parts of the mechanism remain unsettled. The Antwerp Diamond Heist succeeded not because its perpetrators built a superior machine, but because years of legitimate-looking access let them learn where an imposing security system depended on ordinary sensors, routines, and human assumptions. Its collapse came from the opposite failure of discipline: evidence discarded beside a Belgian road gave investigators a path from an apparently impossible vault breach to Leonardo Notarbartolo and his crew.

The Old Evidence That Gave Joseph Back His Name

The Old Evidence That Gave Joseph Back His Name Welcome to The Unresolved Dossier. A blanket and a bassinet carton could not identify a murdered child in 1957. Decades later, preserved evidence and genetic genealogy opened another route. Today, we examine what the science established about Joseph Augustus Zarelli, and where the historical record still stops. For 65 years, investigators could describe the child found in a Philadelphia cardboard box but could not give him back his name; exhaustive publicity, physical clues, and conventional detective work never established who he was. Advances in DNA analysis and investigative genetic genealogy turned biological traces into family connections, allowing police to identify him in 2022 as Joseph Augustus Zarelli—while leaving the question of who killed him unresolved.
