Who Is the Real Jeff the Killer?

You’ve seen this face. Pale skin, a carved smile, wide, unblinking eyes. Jeff the Killer is one of the most recognizable horror images on the internet, but nearly 20 years after it first appeared, nobody can say for sure whose face it is.WavyWebSurf guest-hosts as we trace the image from a 2005 upload on the Japanese site pya.cc (and an even earlier one on Fileman), through the 2007 NNN screamer video, the 2008 Newgrounds and YouTube posts that gave Jeff his name, and the 2011 creepypasta that turned him into an icon. Then, the decades-long hunt for the real person behind the edit, the strongest lead investigators have found, how Jeff became a meme hall-of-famer, and the movie that might finally be on the way.

Bronies: The Men Who Loved My Little Pony

On October 25, 2010, 15 days after My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic premiered, an anonymous 4chan user typed "Ponybro more like BRONY amirite" and coined one of the internet's most talked-about fandoms. How did a cartoon made for little girls end up with an audience of adult men? Why did the show's creators start writing fan memes like Derpy Hooves, Doctor Whooves, and "20% cooler" into the series itself? And why does everyone outside the fandom only remember the worst parts?Caroline Konstnar explains. Is Viral TikToker Jean Philanthrope Real or Just a Memecoin Hoax

Jean Philanthrope, also known as Jean Phil, is a French internet persona and character who emerged in mid-to-late September 2026, quickly going viral on social media and garnering a large following in just a few days. The character is known for his unique look, sporting a curled mustache and fluffy blonde hair in a bob or bowl cut, which many have compared to Shrek's Lord Farquaad or a poodle, earning him the nickname "poodle man." In most of his videos, Jean Phil is seen shadowboxing in different settings wearing a brown houndstooth suit.

MySpace's Most Famous Stranger Vanished 17 Years Ago

In August 2009, a 46-year-old man in eyeliner uploaded a few mirror selfies to MySpace under the name CrisXcruX. Within three weeks, the internet had renamed him Emo Dad. Within two years, he was one of the most recognizable faces of the image-macro era. And then the trail went cold: the profile returned "410 Gone," the forums that argued about him shut down, the meme generators died, and Know Your Meme's entry has said "identity unknown" since 2012. Seventeen years later, nobody has ever publicly identified him.Hosted by Justin Whang. Who Is Quandale Dingle?

In September 2021, somebody took a photo of a school computer login screen, and the name on it was so strange that the internet could not leave it alone. Within six months, Quandale Dingle had a face (an edited NBA YoungBoy), a voice (a TikToker doing bizarre lore in a deep growl), a theme song, a criminal record, a feud with Daniel Larson, and a spot as one of the biggest meme characters TikTok has ever produced. But is he a real person? What Is The Gooner Timeline?

On July 30, 2025, a Twitter account called Overfit Quantitative Strategies posted a barely labeled chart of every woman the site had spent the year obsessing over, calling it the Gooner Timeline. It was engagement bait, and it worked: the chart keeps getting reposted, updated, and restyled, and each new name brings its own discourse. Gamer From Mars walks the whole thing, entry by entry: a Red Scare podcast host, an Italian model the internet should have left alone, the "Model vs. Cashier" girl, a Brazilian cosplayer dressed as an imageboard mascot, the Japanese Salarywoman who turned one photo into a K-pop comeback and an AI companion deal with Razer, an Olympic gold medalist accused of "goonbait" for sticking out her tongue, a demon from a horror movie, and a DJ at a foam party. This is what happens when objectification becomes an engagement strategy.Hosted by TheGamerFromMars.
