How Brian Flores Makes the Vikings So Hard to Block

Why can keeping extra blockers in still leave an offense in trouble? Final Measure breaks down how Brian Flores' Vikings create favorable matchups, how their rushers finish the play, and where an offense can find an answer.Follow Dallas Turner driving through a block, Harrison Smith and Turner exploiting uneven protection, Blake Cashman changing his path after blocks begin, and D'Andre Swift's screen getting behind the rush. We also put the pressure numbers in context rather than treating every extra rusher as guaranteed pressure. This is an audio adaptation of the Final Measure video analysis, with shorter music breaks and the original narration preserved. Some references to watching or pausing the play remain; the accompanying video contains the diagrams and footage. The statistics cover Minnesota's first six games through October 25, 2026. The Detroit discussion is a pregame look, not a recap.Companion video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1FyLcGAByoOriginal narration and music: Final Measure. Defensive tracking covers attempts assigned to Wembanyama; its comparison benchmark is the shooters' season accuracy, not expected accuracy for identical shots. Two-point attempts are not synonymous with rim attempts. Percentage-point differences are calculated from unrounded values. A defensive rebound ends the original possession; subsequent scores after a new possession are counted separately. Spatial reconstructions are explanatory illustrations, not measured player-tracking coordinates.

Darryn Peterson Could Change Everything for the Jazz

Darryn Peterson gives Utah a fascinating development question: how do you grow a potential star while keeping Keyonte George, Ace Bailey and the established players involved? In this Final Measure episode, I look at the backcourt partnership, Bailey’s role, what Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr. provide, and the defensive habits that will tell us whether the Jazz are making real progress. A note for audio listeners: at 2:46, I describe a hypothetical possession with George above the arc, Peterson on the wing, Bailey in the corner, Markkanen on the opposite side and Jackson near the elbow. The narration walks through the action; the companion video also shows an original diagram. This is an illustration, not a play Utah is claimed to have run or a confirmed starting lineup. What Happened to the Dodgers? They Led Every Game and Got Swept

The Dodgers led every game of the 2026 NLCS. Milwaukee swept them anyway. Final Measure breaks down three sequences that explain how four competitive games became four Brewers wins: - Jake Bauers' 12-pitch walk against Yoshinobu Yamamoto, followed by Christian Yelich's two-run single in Game 2 - A walk and back-to-back homers against Blake Snell in Game 3: three hitters, 20 pitches, three runs, no outs - Milwaukee's Game 4 fifth inning: one hit and four walks, including one intentional, to erase the rest of a four-run Dodgers lead Shohei Ohtani supplied LA's only home run of the series, a three-run shot that built a 4-0 lead in Game 4. We also revisit the seventh-inning chance: with the tying run at third and one out, Aaron Ashby struck him out on three pitches before Mookie Betts grounded out. Then we examine LA's scoreless final three innings in every game, Milwaukee's 7-1 home-run edge, and a hard-hit statistic that complicates the story. Which of those three sequences best explains the series to you? CHAPTERS 0:00 Four leads, zero wins 0:29 The sweep hides something 1:15 Game Two: the out Milwaukee wouldn't give away 2:25 Game Three: why Snell stayed in 3:20 Three hitters, twenty pitches 4:15 Game Four: damage without a big swing 5:13 Power and the next hit 6:34 The bullpen that kept the door closed 7:26 One number complicates the story 8:16 The final measure SOURCES Official MLB Gameday box scores and play-by-play: Game 1: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/dodgers-vs-brewers/2026/10/11/849809/final/box Game 2: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/dodgers-vs-brewers/2026/10/12/849812/final/box Game 3: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/brewers-vs-dodgers/2026/10/14/849811/final/box Game 4: https://www.mlb.com/gameday/brewers-vs-dodgers/2026/10/15/849810/final/box MLB reporting on the Bauers plate appearances: https://www.mlb.com/news/jake-bauers-12-pitch-walk-christian-yelich-single-yoshinobu-yamamoto https://www.mlb.com/news/jake-bauers-hits-go-ahead-hr-off-blake-snell-in-11-pitch-at-bat-in-nlcs-game-3 Hard-hit definition: https://www.mlb.com/glossary/statcast/hard-hit-rate NOTES Series statistics are calculated from MLB's official four-game box scores and play logs.
