Episode 2 - The Moon: Are You Misunderstood?

In Episode 2 Mandy and Jenny discuss the nature of The Moon in Astrology and how it speaks to our emotional processing, what we need from others and tips for self care. Putting It Into Practice Questions we asked in this episode: How can understanding our Moon sign improve our relationships? How can it can strengthen parenting? How does it help with boundaries? How does it improve communication? How does it support self-awareness and self-care? Pattern Homework: Pay attention to the moments when you naturally seek comfort. Do you reach out to someone, spend time alone, create, cook, keep busy, or something else? Notice your patterns without judging them. Compare your observations to your Moon sign before our next episode. Have you noticed that there is one specific moon sign that you tend to be emotionally drawn to? Is it your sun sign? Episode 1 - Why Does Astrology Matter?

Why Does Astrology Matter? Let's look at this from a more personal angle. Astrologers Mandy and Jenny talk about what Astrology is and what it isn't. Discover how you can begin using Astrology in your every day life to meet challenges head on, feel confident and find meaning. Also in this podcast there are conversations for more experienced Astrologers. All discourse, possibilities and creative interactions are welcome. P.S. (from Jenny) Can you believe that we've never met in person? This episode was recorded after a few conceptual meetings and away we went! * 12th House is the house of isolation and self undoing in the chart. When Jenny refers to her moon being in the 12th house it speaks to emotional isolation. Show Notes: Re: Uranus Opposition Commonly referred to as a ‘midlife crisis” A time of life between the ages of 40-42 when transiting Uranus forms an opposition ( a 180 degree aspect) to Uranus in your birth chart. This can emerge as a time of life when there are sudden disruptions, chaotic events and situations can feel like they are out of your control. Unexpected changes, upheavals or the need for more freedom or authenticity can lead to profound awakenings. During this time, it is helpful to get okay with change and expect that things you have planned in your life may not turn out as you had expected. Remain nimble and ready to pivot. Mercury Retrograde: Mercury and the earth orbit the sun at different times. This creates an optical illusion that looks like Mercury is moving backwards through space. When this happens, we say that this planet is "retrograde". All planets retrograde, except for the sun and moon, which are technically not considered planets, but are referred to as luminaries and our primary reference points from earth. Mercury, the fastest moving planet and the one that rules over communication, messages and transportation, tends to be felt more immediately in our lives. For a fun look at this, you can visit Jenny’s blog, where she has an article about this. It also contains some wisdom on how to navigate this transit which happens roughly three times a year and lasts approximately three weeks. However, Mercury will be moving slowly on either side of the retrograde (we call this the shadow phase) and the totality of the influence can last 2 months. This transit is known for causing communication issues, the need to retrace steps, a feeling of not being able to press forward, travel snafus, missing details, misunderstandings. You can check out Jenny’s blog post on how to navigate this recurring transit.
