Remembering the Businesses of Morse and Gueydan (Part 1)

In the next few episodes, I visited my parentss, Billy & Mary Simon and asked them to recall as much as they could about the local economies of Morse and Gueydan. The time span was from the early 1950s to the 1970s, and to be clear this is not meant to be a perfect recollection of what was there, but more like a snapshot. Small towns depended heavily on these stores and other places where goods were bought and sold. And Gueydan and Morse were no different. Join us as we rememeber what was and still is.

    Gueydan After Dark

This episode takes a look at three tales of strange phenomna in the marsh surrounding Gueydan, Louisiana which is the Duck Capital of America. All three are based in fact but linger on the boundary of eerie and folklore. One is shrouded in mystery originating long ago, one is definitely unusual things that happen in the dark, and the third is historical fact that has grown into more than just a footnote in time.
