The Peps Report

MyPeps

Mark and Amy break down the week's peptide research news in plain English: new trials, FDA and WADA decisions, safety alerts, and what the evidence actually shows, including when it doesn't. Every story is sourced, and every episode links to the full write-up on mypeps.info. Mark and Amy are AI-generated voices; every episode is reviewed by our editor, Ryan E., MS. Six peps got a panel yes vote. What that does and doesn't mean

Six peps (BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, MOTS-c, Epitalon and Semax) reportedly got a yes vote from an FDA advisory panel in July, and some people are treating that as a green light. Mark and Amy walk through why a panel vote is a recommendation and not an approval, then look at the research behind two of the six, BPC-157 and TB-500. Both sit at 2 of 5 on our evidence scale. The panel details are reported, not verified here. What we covered Why an advisory panel vote isn't an FDA approval Why missing approval is normal for peps: it mostly tracks who can fund large trials BPC-157: many rodent studies, and a systematic review of three small human reports (30 participants in total) with very low certainty TB-500: a fragment of thymosin beta-4, where the full-length protein has human trials but the fragment mostly doesn't What people's own experience adds, and what it can't show Cautions from clinicians about unregulated injectables Sources Six peptides got a panel yes vote. KPV and the Gut: What Cell and Mouse Studies Show So Far

This week Mark and Amy dig into KPV, a tiny fragment of the hormone α-MSH, and the lab research on its anti-inflammatory effects in gut cells and mice. They also look at two new 2026 lab papers, how to weigh personal reports, and why "not FDA-approved" is not a verdict either way. What we covered What KPV is: the last three amino acids (lysine, proline, valine) of α-MSH The site's evidence level of 2 out of 5: cell and mouse colitis studies, no published human trials How KPV is described as entering gut-lining and immune cells via PepT1 and dampening NF-κB and MAP-kinase pathways Why its gut effect does not appear to run through melanocortin receptors, so it is not a tanning peptide A 2026 Tissue & Cell study in mouse macrophages showing similar pathway effects (abstract only, one cell line, nothing about colitis) A 2026 Tissue & Cell fat-cell paper, with oral KPV in mice on a high-fat diet How to weigh "calmer gut and skin" reports: real, but anecdotal Why FDA status is one signal among several, and a note that KPV is on the WADA banned list Sources https://www.mypeps.info/blog/kpv-gut-inflammation-research https://www.mypeps.info/methodology Lysine-Proline-Valine attenuates oxidized low-density lipoprotein-induced foam cell formation and inflammatory responses in RAW264.7 macrophages, Tissue & Cell, Oct 2026: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42854645/ Synthetic Peptides in Pharmacy Compounding: Analysis of PCAC Recommendations and Industry Safety Standards, International Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding, Sep 2026: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42752426/ KPV attenuates adipogenesis and lipid metabolism through modulation of ROS-mediated AKT/mTORC1/PPARγ signaling, Tissue & Cell, Aug 2026: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/42585803/ Free tools Peptide calculator: https://www.mypeps.info/calculator This is education, not medical advice. GLOW: A Three-Peptide Blend With No Studies of Its Own

GLOW is a premixed vial of BPC-157, TB-500 and GHK-Cu, 70 mg in total, marketed for skin and recovery together. Mark and Amy look at what is actually known. No study has tested the blend itself, so the case for it is borrowed from each ingredient's separate evidence. What we covered What GLOW is: a premixed vial of three peptides, 70 mg in total. The mechanism as described: BPC-157 supports local repair and blood-vessel growth, TB-500 helps cells move to injured tissue, and GHK-Cu delivers copper and drives collagen signaling. How they act together has not been studied. The evidence rating: 2 out of 5. No studies of the blend. BPC-157 and TB-500 are mostly animal data, and GHK-Cu's human data is topical. Skin firmness and collagen: small human studies of GHK-Cu showed improved skin, but they were topical. Tissue repair: BPC-157 and TB-500 sped healing in animal injury models. Skin glow and recovery: self-reported only. Status: not FDA-approved, and banned by WADA. Half-life: mixed, since each component differs, but all are short-acting signals. Calculator arithmetic: a 70 mg vial with 3.5 mL of water is 20 mg/mL, and 2000 mcg is 10 units on a U-100 syringe. This is arithmetic only, not a recommendation. Recent discoveries in MOTS-c benefits

Mark and Amy walk through the latest MOTS-c research: a mitochondria-derived peptide studied for insulin sensitivity, exercise capacity, heart damage from sepsis, egg-cell energy in aging, and tissue transplants. Mark and Amy break down peptide storage: why freeze-dried powder is the stable form, what oxygen, moisture and light do to a chain of amino acids, and how quickly shelf life drops once water is added. They also cover the 28-day sterility rule, sprays, and why approved drugs like Mounjaro and Egrifta SV follow their own labels. Peptides for sex and hormones: what a new urology review says the evidence supports

Mark and Amy dig into a new review of peptides used in urology and sexual medicine. Out of 76 studies, only two peptides, PT-141 and tesamorelin, have defined dosing and an approved use, and both approvals are narrow. They also look at why raising IGF-1 isn't the same as a proven benefit, where kisspeptin and testosterone therapy overlap and split, a new mouse study on kisspeptin and estrogen, and a large records study of GLP-1 drugs before pregnancy in PCOS. Gray-market peptides and fentanyl precursors: what the new TRM Labs report found

Mark and Amy dig into a new TRM Labs report: about three in four Chinese chemical vendors it tracked list both peptides and fentanyl precursors, and US buyers send most of the traceable money. They cover what the report can and can't show, the two peptides it named, and what the FDA says about "research use only" labels.
