Second Chances, Episode 9: The Cats Finally Get Names — And a Hard Day for Bruno

Steven Hall opens with an urgent, honest update on Bruno: after over three years at True Friends, serious aggression concerns and trainer assessments, a scheduled humane euthanasia has been postponed while the shelter seeks a reputable professional behavior, rehab, or sanctuary placement — contact director Dory Browning at 570-396-6011 (not a private adoption appeal). Then meet Cera and Petri, two adoptable sister tabby kittens — the first named cats on the show — celebrate the shelter's Happy Endings cat adoptions, and hear Sugar Plum's happy tail: a senior dog placed into a new home in New Jersey via Pattie's Waggin' Tails Senior Sanctuary. Plus the shelter's urgent funding appeal and an honest fundraiser update: still $0 raised, be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Second Chances, Episode 8: A Quiet Home for Brody — And Seven Little Puppies

Steven Hall leads with Brody, an 11-year-old Boxer who can't see well and desperately needs a quiet foster home after his owner's health declined and a lined-up foster fell through; introduces the shelter's seven 9-week-old puppies — Sneezy, Happy, Grumpy, Dopey, Bashful, Sleepy, and Doc — now ready for families; and shares Pumpkins for a Purpose, ending today at Purple Pepper Farms in Clarks Summit with 15% of sales to True Friends. Plus the shelter's urgent funding appeal and an honest fundraiser update: still $0 raised, be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Second Chances, Episode 7: The Longest Wait — Meet Bowie, Porsha, Mardi Gras, and Kevin

Steven Hall introduces Bowie, at True Friends since June 2019 — longer than any dog on this show — a Terrier mix who needs an only-pet home and manages skin allergies on Apoquel and a fish diet; Porsha, who survived being found dragging her puppies in a crate tied to her leg; Mardi Gras, the brindle girl overlooked since 2021; and Kevin, a young Lab mix who is good with dogs and cats. Plus a thank-you to the Doggie Day Out volunteers, the shelter's urgent funding appeal, and an honest fundraiser update: still zero raised, be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Second Chances, Episode 6: Seven Years Waiting — Meet Bubba, Mack, and Bebe

Steven Hall introduces Bubba, who has waited at True Friends since August 2019 — over seven years — and whose adoption fee is already sponsored; Mack, a senior Shepherd mix waiting five years who carries his giant stuffed animal everywhere and takes simple daily thyroid medication; and Bebe, a young Staffy who has waited 482 days. Plus the rule of threes for adopting a long-waiter, the shelter's urgent funding appeal, and an honest fundraiser update: still zero raised, be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Second Chances, Episode 5: The Dog Who Listens With His Eyes — Meet Roomba and Pinky

Steven Hall introduces Roomba, a deaf young Bull Terrier mix at True Friends who is learning hand signals and has been overlooked for his special needs, and Pinky, a timid hound with a pink nose whose one foster night of swimming and snuggling in a real bed showed who he really is — plus a brief hello to Rocky the American Bulldog, the shelter's foster program, its urgent funding appeal, and an honest fundraiser update: still zero raised, be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Steven Hall introduces Thor and Dion, two big Rottweiler mixes at True Friends whose story pages are still blank and waiting for an adopter to write them, plus Whiskey, a Lab and Collie mix who came from a cruelty situation as the most fearful of eight dogs and now greets staff at the kennel front. Plus a dedicated guide to fostering and volunteering, the shelter's urgent funding appeal, and an honest fundraiser update: still zero raised — be the first to donate: https://www.gofundme.com/f/second-chances-for-montrose-true-friends-animal-rescue

Second Chances, Episode 3: The Woods, the Paw, and Two Good Dogs

Two good dogs waiting at True Friends Animal Welfare Center in Montrose, PA. Bruno, a two-and-a-half-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, wandered the woods alone for weeks — shy at first, then a total snugglebug, and good with other dogs. Bucky, a stray nobody ever claimed, shakes paw at breakfast and dinner and is hoping for a no-cat home of his own. Plus: how the shelter's $5,000 goal breaks down — surgeries, HVAC, kennels, and food for more than 95 animals.
