    03: Fall Out (The Prisoner)

What happens when a very young child sees the denouement of one of the most confusing and psychedelic cult tv shows of the 1960's without context? Ask our guest, comedian and writer Michael Swaim!  We're diving into the final episode of 1967's The Prisoner, a series that changed television and has been the topic of debate for close to sixty years.  Who is number one? Where is the village? What is up with the anti-escape orb? And was Patrick McGoohan a genius? Whether you saw it or not, you've definitely seen something influenced by it.  Check out more of Michael's stuff at patreon.com/smallbeans

02: Ghost Stories from The Pickwick Papers (1987)

It's Diamanda's "screen" this time and we're watching the 1987 Irish animated adaptation of Ghost Stories From The Pickwick Papers, based on selected pieces by Charles Dickens. Along the way we will encounter a closeted ghost, see a "Chad" fight ghost "wojaks" for the hand of Lily Munster, and watch as the most miserable grave digger you've ever met experiences extreme torture and an ironic punishment at the hands of poorly animated goblins. A dude gets turned into a plant!  Can you tell that it is a prototype for A Christmas Carol?  The film can be watched on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wk4aSV7XfD8 Fever Screens © 2026

01: Mio in The Land of Faraway (1987)

Welcome to the first episode of Fever Screens! Join hosts Cody and Diamanda as they take a look at a Swedish/Soviet coproduction that has haunted Cody and driven him mad for nigh on 36 years!  It's a magical, yet incredibly boring, tale of giant heads, evil knights, George W. Bush as king, baby Christian Bale, and a child getting a real bad case of Stockholm syndrome. It's Mio in The Land of Faraway!  ©Fever Screens 2026.  Use of this podcast for the training of a.i. is stirctly prohibited, and will result in legal action.
