Amazon Is Pushing Back on AI Shopping Agents. Here's Why

What happens when AI stops recommending products and starts shopping for you? AI agents could help us compare products, navigate websites, and eventually complete purchases. But retailers have their own rules about who can access their platforms and act on a customer’s behalf. In this episode of The India AI Brief, we explore the reported Amazon-Meta dispute over AI shopping agents, the difference between using AI for shopping research and handing it the power to act, and why control over the shopping experience could become a bigger question for the internet. We also look at the three levels of delegation: asking AI to help you decide, asking it to take action, and letting it decide and act within limits. The takeaway: AI shopping is not just about finding the right product. It is also about who controls the journey from recommendation to purchase. Less hype. More context. Let's figure it out together.

Google's Gemini 4 Argon: AI That Does the Work?

Google's Gemini 4 Argon is designed to do more than answer questions. It targets complex, multi-step tasks across coding, scientific research, finance and other professional fields. In this episode of The India AI Brief, we explore how AI is moving from generating answers to completing entire workflows, what Google's reported results tell us, and why reliability, human oversight and cost matter as much as raw model performance. Can AI actually do the work, or are we still a long way from trusting it to deliver? Sources mentioned Google's official Gemini 4 Argon announcement: https://blog.google/intl/en-in/products/introducing-gemini-4-argon/ Google Cloud AI updates: https://cloud.google.com/blog/ Independent reporting from Reuters: https://www.reuters.com/ A note on the evidence Performance figures discussed in this episode should be interpreted in the context of their specific tests and environments. Company-reported improvements do not guarantee equivalent results across other workloads. AI Just Found a Better Way to Design Quantum Algorithms

Anthropic's Claude Mythos 5 has reportedly designed quantum circuits that use up to 17 times fewer computational gates than previous designs. How did it do this, and what does it tell us about AI's role in scientific discovery? In this episode of The India AI Brief, we explore Anthropic's research into AI-designed quantum circuits, how the model proposed and tested new designs, and why balancing computational operations against qubit requirements matters. We also look at two striking results, what the research actually demonstrates, and why better algorithms don't automatically mean practical quantum computers are here. Based on Anthropic's published research. The findings and their limitations are discussed in the episode. Stop Building AI Features. Find the Work People Couldn't Do Before.

What if the best AI product ideas aren't about doing existing tasks faster, but making something valuable possible for the first time? In this episode of The India AI Brief, I explore findings from Anthropic's report, What 81,000 People Told Us About the Economics of AI, and what they might mean for people building AI products. We'll look at the difference between adding AI features and solving real customer problems, why generating an answer isn't the same as delivering an outcome, and a simple exercise to identify opportunities worth exploring before you build. Your takeaway: List three things your target customers struggle to accomplish, then speak to five potential customers before building anything. Less hype, more context. Let's figure it out together. Everyone Is Experimenting With AI. Why Is It So Hard to Make It Work?

Everyone is experimenting with AI, but turning a promising demo into something people actually use is a different challenge. In Episode 2 of The India AI Brief, we explore why AI experiments don't always translate into useful business tools, what it takes to move from a working demo to a reliable workflow, and how to identify tasks where AI can make a real difference. In this episode: Why an impressive AI demo can struggle in everyday use How to identify repetitive tasks that are worth automating Three practical steps to test whether AI actually saves time What this means for founders building AI products for specific industries A simple experiment you can try this week to improve one of your own workflows The episode also draws on perspectives about AI adoption and implementation from Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, alongside research and reporting on enterprise AI adoption.
