Podcasting Over the Holidays: How to Keep Your Show Alive

How do you keep podcasting over the holidays without losing your streak? Holiday travel and family plans eat the routine that kept you consistent all year, and the recording day you locked in probably lands on Christmas or New Year's Eve (great timing). That's how a strong year ends in a slow drift, and it's a big reason so many shows podfade in January. In this episode we walk through a November plan that lets December publish itself. We cover how to batch two or three episodes in one recording session to build an episode buffer, how to run a lighter seasonal format like a year in review or listener questions, and when a planned hiatus with a set return date makes more sense. Then we set your January restart trigger before you log off, so you come back to a recording day and a first episode already picked and get to skip the post-holiday fog. CHAPTERS The problem: the holidays break the routine that kept you consistent Build a holiday podcast buffer in November Batch two or three episodes before December hits Run a lighter format for the season Or take a planned hiatus, done right Set the January restart trigger before you log off What this means for staying consistent LINKS Full show notes: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-11-01-podcasting-over-the-holidays Podfade: why podcasts quit and how to prevent it: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-07-19-podfade-why-podcasts-quit-and-how-to-prevent-it Batch recording: how to record a month of content in one day: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-03-08-batch-recording-mastery-how-to-record-a-month-of-podcast-content-in-one-day The one-episode buffer: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-06-28-the-one-episode-buffer The Steady Pack on Substack: https://thesteadypack.substack.com/ Newsletter: https://thesteadypack.com/newsletter Unleashed Podcasts (meet Daisy, your accountability coach): https://unleashedpodcasts.com/

The Pack Process: A 6-Stage Content Creation Workflow From Idea to Promote

What does a content creation workflow look like when you want to stay consistent? A lot of us sit down to create, stare at a blank document, and wing it. The piece comes out rushed, so the next week you remember how that felt and skip it, and three weeks later your audience has found someone else to watch. That's how podfade happens, and it's the same reason YouTube channels and newsletters go dark while the creator still has a backlog full of ideas. In this episode we walk through The Pack Process, our six-stage workflow for making one piece of content: Idea, Script, Record, Edit, Publish, and Promote. We talk about why winging it burns through your willpower, what each stage looks like, and how to tell when a stage is done (from reading your script out loud before you hit record to building a publishing checklist you can trust). Then we connect it all to PodcastOps, the system for running the process week after week, and wrap up with seven steps you can use to get started this week.CHAPTERSWhy winging it leads to quittingWhat is The Pack Process?Stage 1: IdeaStage 2: ScriptStage 3: RecordStage 4: EditStage 5: PublishStage 6: PromoteWhy systems beat motivationHow to start using The Pack Process this weekLINKSFull show notes: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-10-25-the-pack-process-idea-to-promotePodfade is a systems problem: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-05-31-podfade-is-a-systems-problem-not-a-motivation-problemHow to eliminate decision fatigue: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-04-19-how-to-eliminate-decision-fatigue-from-your-content-workflowGetting Things Done for content creators: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-05-24-why-content-creators-need-a-getting-things-done-systemThe blank page problem: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-09-13-the-blank-page-problemThe perfectionism trap: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-03-22-the-perfectionism-trap-why-your-podcast-needs-progress-not-perfectionGrammarly: https://www.grammarly.com/How to repurpose a podcast episode: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-10-18-how-to-repurpose-a-podcast-episodePodcastOps: https://thesteadypack.com/blog/2026-10-11-podcastops-run-your-podcast-like-a-systemNewsletter: https://thesteadypack.com/newsletterUnleashed Podcasts (meet Daisy, your accountability coach): https://unleashedpodcasts.com/

How to Repurpose a Podcast Episode Into a Week of Content

How do you repurpose a podcast episode into a week of content? We run the same repurposing loop after every recording, so we never figure out what to make from scratch. Most creators start from zero each time, and that decision fatigue is why distribution gets skipped and the episode sits there with one post behind it. In this episode we walk through the repurposing loop, the fixed checklist we run in the Promote stage of the Pack Process. We show how one long-form recording turns into two or three short clips, an audiogram, a quote card, and a newsletter, and how those fill all seven days of the week. We also cover why repurposing beats posting more and how a closed loop keeps you consistent. CHAPTERS What is the repurposing loop? How to Stay Consistent With Your Podcast: PodcastOps

How do you stay consistent with your podcast when the motivation runs out? You build a system that keeps going without it. Some weeks you record three episodes before lunch, and other weeks one rough night wipes out two days of work. When your show only moves on the good days, the bad weeks stall it, and that stall is where most podcasts die: 44% never make it past episode three. In this episode we walk through PodcastOps, the operating discipline that runs your show the way a business runs operations. We cover its five principles (systems beat motivation, make the work visible, batch by mode, measure what you control, and review on a schedule), then six steps you can start this week, from mapping your stages to banking a one-episode buffer.
