In the first episode of The NExt Question, we take a closer look at one of the most important — and often misunderstood — topics in public education: school finance. Join host Evan Henson, NEISD Public Relations Specialist, and his guest, Susan Lackorn, NEISD Chief Financial Officer, as they break down how public school funding works, where the money comes from and how those dollars support students, staff and schools across North East ISD. How are Texas public schools funded? What role do local property taxes and state funding play? How does enrollment affect the money a school district receives?
