Films assigned. Feelings uninvited. It’s *Probably Nothing turns first-time watches into honest conversations. Five college friends, now living different lives across Manila, Los Angeles, and Japan, assign each other something they’ve never seen and talk about what came up. Because “it’s probably nothing” is what you say when a scene hits harder than you expected and you’re not ready to admit why. We say it a lot. We’re usually wrong. Turns out it was never really about the movie. New episodes every Thursday.

Is It Comfort or Are We Just Scared?

We started with a wedding and ended with a sunrise. Somewhere in between, five friends tried to figure out if starting over is ever as clean as it sounds. Froilan finally watched Sana Dati (2013), Kaye got Chef (2014), Yuko took on Voicemails for Isabelle (2026), Luisa met Good Will Hunting (1997) for the first time, and Sam went on a second date with Soul (2020). The big question: where’s the line between being comfortable and being afraid to change? Somebody has quit four jobs and regrets none of them. Somebody just changed jobs and apartments at the same time. Somebody realized a rom-com can be a little bit stalker-y. And everyone agreed a new beginning doesn’t have to be loud. Spoilers ahead.

Are We Running Late or Right on Time?

Luisa finally makes it to class! For our first proper episode, everyone got a film from someone else. Yuko took on tick, tick... BOOM! (2021), Sam got Jerry Maguire (1996), Kaye finally watched A Star Is Born (2018), Luisa revisited Sunny (2011), and Froilan rewatched The Worst Person in the World (2021). Then the argument started. Was Jonathan Larson rushing his life before thirty, or racing a clock that was actually ticking? Was Julie finding herself, or just stalling? Somewhere between “everyone’s on their own timeline” and “that’s just an excuse,” we didn’t quite agree. Also, somebody quit their job because of a musical, and somebody thought Jerry Maguire was a rom-com. Spoilers ahead, especially for The Worst Person in the World. Running late or right on time? Depends who you ask. It’s probably nothing.

    Orientation Day (Attendance Optional)

Welcome to orientation! Before the assignments begin, Froilan, Kaye, Yuko, and Sam sit down to explain what this show is and how five college friends from Manila ended up here. (Luisa’s stuck at work. Attendance is optional, after all.) We revisit the podcast that died in 2020 and who’s to blame for it, break down how the assignments work, and ask how hopeful we really were when we graduated in 2014. Then we play Core Four, the four things that carried us from then to now, featuring Phantom of the Opera, Toy Story 3, Good Will Hunting, way too many sitcoms, and one wrecking ball. It’s the longest trailer in history. We know. Pull up a chair anyway. It’s probably nothing.
