    Just Press Play

Somewhere in the depths of the internet, a secretive collection of audio files promises something extraordinary: the ability to rewrite who you are. They call it Bambi Sleep. For some, it's fantasy. For others, an escape. But for those who venture deeper, the lines between pleasure, identity and control can begin to disappear. Who created these mysterious recordings? What happens to the people who surrender themselves to them? And why do some claim they can never truly escape? In this first episode, we investigate the online Bambi Sleep community through personal accounts and expert perspectives. Listeners and contributors describe a range of experiences from relaxation, confidence, and consensual roleplay to concerns about pressure, dependency, lost time, and changes in their relationships or concentration. The episode also follows LS, whose two-week listening challenge gradually became a daily habit, and considers the broader questions around escapism, consent, identity, and online influence. It does not offer a simple verdict: it asks how to take reported harms seriously without reducing an unfamiliar community to a sensational story. Bambi Prime

In 2016, a series of audio files appeared online, promising escape, transformation, and something harder to explain. Their creator was known only as Bambi Prime. As the recordings spread, an anonymous online community gathered around them, sharing experiences, creating new files, and debating whether the attention around Bambi Sleep was doing more harm than good. In this episode, we follow the trail back to Bambi Prime and explore why these recordings have become so compelling and controversial. An expert on digital intimacy helps illuminate how online spaces can offer room to explore hidden parts of ourselves, while the history of recorded suggestion raises difficult questions. We try to uncover what is really at the center of Bambi Sleep. 3. Episode 3

    Tulpa

What happens when an imagined identity becomes part of everyday life? In this episode of The Bambi Trap, we explore Bambi Sleep through the lens of tulpas, ritual, repetition, and the psychology of identity. Through personal accounts and interviews with researchers and practitioners, the episode examines how repeated listening, routines, and the “Bambi uniform” can shape habits and feelings of self. The investigation also considers claims that erotic hypnosis can change someone’s sexuality, and the more complicated possibility that it may give people permission to explore desires they had previously kept hidden. At its center is a question about consent: when an experience is designed around surrendering control, how can someone pause, set boundaries, or change their mind?
