    Climate & Education: Ava Langridge, Founder and Executive Director of Our Youth 4 The Climate, on Climate-Based Education

    In the second episode of Climate & we’re joined by Ava Langridge, founder and executive director of Our Youth 4 The Climate (OY4C), to discuss the impact of “youth-for-youth” initiatives and key lessons from OY4C on designing climate-based curricula. Drawing on Ava’s experience founding an international youth-led organisation dedicated to increasing access to and engagement with climate education, we explore how to bridge gaps in climate change education. We consider how youth-led initiatives can improve climate change awareness, how different classrooms currently integrate sustainability into their curricula, and the nuances of using social media as a climate education platform. We also highlight the importance of community and cooperation to advance climate action, using Ava’s ‘Our Move’ fundraiser as a case study. Finally, Ava discusses her ongoing efforts to educate herself about climate by pursuing her master’s at Oxford.
