NORMA

Norma

Hi, I'm Norma. I'm a writer, a late bloomer, an Indigenous Chicana, a Catholic revert, a history obsessive, and somebody who asks a lot of questions. This podcast explores creativity, culture, faith, history, and everyday life. Sometimes I'll bring a story, sometimes a strong point of view, and sometimes just a question I haven't answered yet. So pull up a chair, grab a cafecito, and let's talk about it. Watch NORMA on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@normaworldwide

What Nobody Tells You About Working for Yourself | NORMA Ep. 2

Working for yourself sounds like freedom. But what happens when nobody is asking you for anything, and you're both the boss and the employee? In Episode 2 of NORMA, I'm sharing three things I didn't expect about working for myself as a writer: creating structure when work is uncertain, knowing when to stop, and making time for people when so much of what you love doing happens alone. There's the fantasy writer's schedule, a necessary staff meeting with myself, and a reminder to actually leave the desk. If you work for yourself or work from home, which part do you struggle with most? Grab your cafecito and join me.
