Dr Dave Rich: How Antisemitism Went Global After October 7

How did antisemitism move from the fringes to the mainstream in just three years? Dr Dave Rich MBE, Director of Policy at the Community Security Trust (CST), discusses his new book, From Be’eri to Bondi: Global Antisemitism After October 7, a collection of articles, essays and talks written in real time since 7 October 2023, together with new material connecting them. In this conversation he looks at the arc from Kibbutz Be’eri to Bondi Beach, what it was like to reread three years of his own commentary, whether today’s antisemitism is the old hatred in a new form, and why accountability has weakened on both the left and the right. He also covers the role of social media, how campus antisemitism compares in the UK and the US, how universities can tell protected academic freedom from incitement, and what worries and encourages him about the next three years. The book (out now from Routledge): Routledge: https://www.routledge.com/From-Beeri-to-Bondi-Global-Antisemitism-After-October-7/Rich/p/book/9781041346708 Amazon UK: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Beeri-Bondi-Antisemitism-October-Contemporary/dp/1041346700/ Follow Dave Rich: X: @daverich1 (https://x.com/daverich1) Newsletter, Everyday Hate: https://everydayhate.substack.com CST: https://cst.org.uk The views expressed are the guest’s own.
