Daniel Miller with Buried In the Woods Below and Jose Bogran with A Random Thief

September brings chills and thrills to the Flamingo Files podcast! JH Bogram’s tale of murder at Mach 2 and Dan Miller’s story of creeping dread will leave you unable to close the covers. José H. Bográn is an award-winning international author of novels, short stories, and scripts for television and film. He writes in both English and his native Spanish. José was born in Honduras, the son of a journalist who ironically prefers to write fiction rather than facts. His genre of choice is crime fiction, but he likes to pour a dash of others into the mix. He lives in Honduras with his wife, sons, and two rescue dogs named Thor and Apollo. In his new novelette, A Random Thief, professional thief Falcon boards the supersonic jetliner Concorde after completing a job in Paris. The pleasant, and fast, flight to New York is derailed when Falcon stops a murder in progress. (The last commercial passenger flight of the Concorde took place in 2003. This story is another version of that flight.) The Falcon first appeared in Jose’s book Treasure Hunt, now available as a twenty-year anniversary edition. Our own FLMWA president, Daniel G. Miller, is the USA Today bestselling author of the Orphanage By The Lake mystery-thriller series and the Tree of Knowledge adventure series. When he’s not writing, he enjoys sipping sunset cocktails with his wife, watching NBA basketball, and singing off-key to his newborn son, not necessarily in that order. He currently lives in Delray Beach, Florida. Dan will tell us about Buried in the Woods Below: Charlotte Hoffman's picture-perfect career implodes overnight, forcing her back to the one place she swore she'd never return: Big Island, Minnesota. Home to her childhood best friend, Olivia Parker, and the place where Charlotte’s life first fell apart. She’s blamed herself for that bloody night ever since. Now she's back, staying with the Parkers in their isolated lakeside home, surrounded by dark woods shrouded in mist and the decaying remains of a long-abandoned amusement park. But something isn't right. The Parkers' young twin girls whisper about ghosts in the trees. Threatening notes appear on doors. An old carousel screams in the wind. And every night the island claims another victim. As Charlotte wades ever deeper into danger, she can't shake the feeling that someone brought her back to the isolated island for a reason.
