    A Mysterious Phone Call

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. We go back to New Year 1992 when Dennis was all of a doo-dah because of an event in the last days of 1991. What could have been so momentous? It’s only fair to warn you that this episode features a wide range of things including soft garibaldis, a pyramid of sink-tidies and the kossak. A Very Versatile Bath

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. We go back to Easter 1995 when Dennis was not in the hen-coop car when Mr South arrived to talk to him, but making all sorts of noises beside it. What could he possibly have been doing? It’s only fair to warn you that this episode features a wide range of things including water lily fairies, petrol, a Cinemascope crib, Vikings and Nubians, crepe paper, mixed infants, hubcaps, chafed loins and The Synchronettes. Liz Sayers on Dennis of Grunty Fen

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. Several years ago Chris South spent a pleasant afternoon talking about Dennis of Grunty Fen with Liz Sayers, Pete Sayers' first wife, who was present at the conception of Dennis and can bear witness to the early Dennis years. Fortunately despite a pandemic the recording survived. The program is introduced by Carol Carman. The Grunty Fencast is produced by Grunty Fennery at www.dennisofgruntyfen.co.uk

    Chris South in Warboys

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. On the 2nd September 2024 Christopher South addressed the Warboys Local History Society in Warboys and spoke of many things, mostly Dennis of Grunty Fen but he also took the opportunity to express his opinion on several other subjects including the BBC and modern comedy. We took the opportunity to record Mr South talking but the only equipment we had to hand was a mobile phone. Also Chris punctuated his talk by tapping his walking stick upon the floor. The recording quality has suffered a little but is still very entertaining. Warning : these are Chris’s own words and opinions and may cause offense! The program is introduced by Carol Carman. The Easter Shepherdess

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. Happy Easter! Congratulations on making it this far. The first Grunty Fencast of 2024 sees us going back thirty years to Easter 1994 when Dennis gave Mr South a present, and hardly stopped talking about it after that. This episode features Seccotine, Brian the Guard Duck, pressing a tongue, goldfish named Ted, the SAS cat, submarines, Ronald Shiner, a piece of pork, a flit gun and Grandad’s truss. Not only that, but you’ll find out how Mr South upset Dennis by asking him a question. The program is introduced by Carol Carman. The Christmas Hamper

Hello and welcome to the latest in a series of occasional podcasts from Grunty Fennery. The second Grunty Fencast of 2023 sees Mr South quizzing Miss Edwards’ newest recruit – Ian, the new Grunty Fen archivist – about his knowledge of Grunty Fen, so you can test yourself as well as you listen. As if that wasn’t enough – there’s a free episode for you from 1993 in which Dennis gives Mr South a Christmas hamper. You may be surprised at what’s in it. Mr South was.
